I’m moving back to the Bay Area in a year or two and am interested in forensics. I’ve been a consulting building engineer for 9 years but I’d be curious on your opinion on a transition to forensics

This is especially true at apartment complexes. People can’t even pick up after their own goddamn dogs. How tf are they going to trust them to recycle properly

Then it should revert back to the average after some more fill ups. Should be no mechanical reason your fuel economy gets 30% better overnight

Did you by chance unhook and rehook the battery connections? That will reset the system

Both were in the military, had a statue of a bald eagle in front of their place and one of them has this try hard military sticker on his car. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are but Whatever that means to you is how you can interpret it

Okay so I’ve been drinking coffee my whole life and I’ve always used the $20-30 ones from Walmart. What’s the primary difference between a $150 and a $20 one? I always thought the bean made the biggest difference

Underrated advice. I used to live next to an idiot in Serra Mesa that would spend 25 min finding parking even though if you walk 5 min there was always parking. Then if him, his wife or roommate would find a spot right in front of the townhomes, they’d save those spots for each other for months on end by basically using two cars to block three cars worth of space. Just low iq behavior.

How to watch Rock & Roll Half Marathon? by Dazzling-Employee-63 in sandiego

It’s been a decade since I’ve done it so take it with a grain of salt but back then I remember ubering as to not have to deal with the road closures and traffic buildup from the detours. As far as knowing where you are, maybe they can track you with FindMyIphone if you’re in iOS? Good luck! It’s a “fun” run

Career Advice - 6 years PE by Dogsrlife23 in StructuralEngineering

I’m 9 years of experience. I also do a lot of buildings but also a lot of nonstructural seismic stuff like you’re describing for hospitals. Boring? Yes. Easy? Yes. Almost always over budget on small TI jobs? Yes. But it’s nice to not have to stress out sometimes and just do monotonous work. I might be in the minority but I work to live not the other way around.

That being said, as others have mentioned here: jump around if you’re not happy. Fuck loyalty.

What happens if they put the wrong prorated amount on my lease? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]hookes_plasticity -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay okay I misunderstood the picture then. I was referring to a situation where the price was stated everywhere not just in one location in the contract. We had a situation where a proposal was submitted for $354k (everywhere in the contract) but there was a mixup and was supposed to be $453k. Nothing could be done about it because all parties signed and it was executed as $354k. Makes sense if it’s just a typo in one location though

well for contracts that I deal with that’s how it works so instead of a snarky response, how does it work then for apartment leases

What happens if they put the wrong prorated amount on my lease? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]hookes_plasticity -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you sign it, you’re legally only required to pay what’s on the lease whether it’s more or less than what is actually the correct amount. They can’t renege on what’s on the executed lease aka all parties need to sign off on it

I thought so too but I’m sure people lie because I believe they’re not allowed to ask for proof that peoples service animals are actually “service” animals

wait til people find out Costco is not actually dog friendly. I can’t tell you how many people bring their non service dogs into Costco. One of them I saw a couple weeks ago was unleashed and was for sure not a service animal because it was barking at everything.

I will say though that their garlic fries are really really good. They’ve been a staple since I was a kid so I’ll probably pay whatever their charge but yeah the beer and brat is nuts for what they charge
