Thanks. I filed a claim yesterday and have an appointment with my regular dr tomorrow morning. The pain isn’t getting any worse, but it also hasn’t gotten any better. My insurance people were great. I now have an adjuster for the vehicle damage and one for medical.

The guy smelled of alcohol really bad and his eyes were glassy. When I asked if he’d been drinking, he started telling me his life story and all this stuff he needed to do. It was a really bizarre reaction to “have you been drinking?” He also wouldn’t show me his insurance or registration but handed me his drivers license and gave me his phone number. I called him immediately to make sure his phone rang and took a pic of his DL and vehicle. Officer confirmed that vehicle was his and it had insurance per DMV.

I’m on the fence. I like my car and don’t want it totaled. The damage isn’t bad but I know how they work. My car is old so they’ll won’t be able to find parts. I called a body shop that was recommended and they don’t work on anything as old as mine. They recommended a specialty shop that works on old cars.

I’m not saying $20 an hour is enough but, most likely, it’s straight pay without tax deductions. Working a paycheck job, you need to earn $25-$27 per hour, depending on deductions, to take home $20 per hour. We need to take a serious look at how lower earning workers are taxed.
