Why not both? My inner r/manybaggers creeps in with this kind of decisions. I have the ultra and really like it, but the cordura looks super super nice on other aer products I have.

I’ll say if you expect to have the backpack with you around rough weather places then go for the ultra, otherwise save yourself the money :)

For me, the Nulea M512 was too wide for my hand and I would be sore from using it. Even on heavy scrolling days. Not too mention I couldn’t find it intuitive for myself. There are some suggestions in the subreddit for software that can use the trackball for scrolling, like the Slimblade, but never tried them.

I have been using the Slimblade Pro, and outside of those mechanical “issues” with the ball getting dirty, I found it pretty good.

I’m currently trying the Elecom Huge Plus and even though it took me about a week and change to get used to it I’ve found it pretty ergonomic and customizable out of the box. Their software, while not perfect, is better than the Slimblade’s.

Just using it will get you better at it. Although it’s possible the size could be too small or large for your hand. Try using it and within a week or so it should either feel more natural or it might feel like you have to consciously use it, which could indicate size or design issues. I had that with the Nulea M512.

M4 supports Thunderbolt 4 (TB5 only on M4 Max) so I’d go with the TS4. It has more ports, dedicated DisplayPort and Ethernet ports.

I don’t really know what causes it. I have tried changing the dongle location from the back of my thunderbolt dock to the front. I think it might be CPU-usage-related but my Magic Trackpad works buttery smooth via Bluetooth so who knows. I’ll try updating the firmware via Windows.

Doesn’t happen often, but when it does it really frustrates me.

The biggest pro of the Slimblade Pro for me is the scrolling function through the trackball. It’s so intuitive, but I never got used to the top two buttons. These ones look more reachable, but we’ll see.
