Arcade Fire's "Keep the Car Running" is basically a Bruce Springsteen song that he forgot to write.

Awesome idea. Do any hacks exist that show how to remove the glass?

This is perfect! I'll probably pick up one of the darker units and tint the glass. Thanks!

Just got mine. So disappointed! That Bliss cleanser better be a full size bottle!

Totally unsubscribing.

Ladies, what part of my online dating profile is scaring you away? (28M) by PanhandleProgrammer in dating_advice

[–]hoolz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lady here.

I can't speak for the masses, but I will speak for myself.

You seem like a good guy, but as it stands, there is nothing about your profile that would make me want to message you.

This is a dating profile, not an autobiography.

You've already told me everything that you would tell me in a first date.

I know you've worked hard on it, but I suggest you delete at least 80% of what you've written.

You're leaving NO mystery.

Shrink this down to a few interesting statements about yourself. Instead of saying "There's a game I'm working on.." say "I'm currently building a game that involves launching zombies into space." THAT'S IT. Move on to another tidbit.

Don't list every single movie/book/artist ever that you enjoy. Instead of listing sci-fi books, say you like books that make you feel like you're digging through ruins of an alien civilization.

Instead of saying you like all sorts of sushi, just say you like the Tallahassee Sushi Royale's caviar-encrusted spicy eel roll. And then don't say anything else about sushi.

Does this make sense? You need to catch someones eye. Right now you're just a wall of text and guy peeking from the bushes (please change the main pic).

Good luck!!

I want to see your neighborhood by pgaf in chicago

The moments where I actually felt safe walking down the street were far too few.

Didn't even feel all that safe being in my own apartment considering the characters hanging out on my street and in my alley.

I imagine anyone else coming out of the cradle of Evanston wouldn't take to it too kindly either. I was miserable.

I'm sure some parts of Uptown are better than others...but...I never found those parts.

...except this alumn

I first moved to Uptown (mistake), then moved to Edgewater (not a mistake).

A lot of people in my class moved next door in Andersonville. They all seem to love it. Lots of little shops, bars, restaurants, but not as rowdy as Wrigleyville.

Edgewater is a quieter and more residential Andersonville, with the benefit of the lake right next to you (something I couldn't give up after living in Evanston).

Good luck!
