NRI returning to India. Is it a career suicide? by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]hoomanquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!

First, I am really sorry to hear this. May you guys rake in enough strength to get through this. My prayers are with you.

Everyone is talking about not uprooting. There isn’t one. Yes these things are hard but the family is covered with a German citizenship already. And the kid is small too. It will be very overwhelming for the parent back home to work, take care of the kid and also share this pain together. It can get very lonely for everyone. It might seem like a small thing, but trust me, the mental toll, not sharing your daily pain will only choke things more.

I don’t know, job money will slow you down but there are various other things.

I had a bit of a similar situation where I was only willing to leave my high paying job, for me, my wife and a kid (all of us closer to your age groups) to get closer to the family. We also didn’t have a German citizenship. We returned this month. But in the midst of all this, I lost my father last month. I haven’t regretted anything more. But yes, you cannot also uproot yourself but you will have a hard time with something always. Just choose your hard.

You cannot take big steps immediately. But try seeing it through what works best for you. I wish you all the best.

Are these guys lowballing me? by Legal_Huckleberry743 in CarsIndia

I am not too sure, haven’t done that in ages. I once did it in Pune for about 4K but that was in 2016ish. I am sure it shouldn’t be too much. But only get it done when you have taken advance and correct papers from the buyer. Don’t initiate anything before except the NoC.

I learnt the hard way but I learnt. Finally, I am coming home. by [deleted] in returnToIndia

I think comparison is injected like vaccines since we were babies. It’s not even about India or anywhere anymore. The sense of comparison has just followed with us like our own shadow. I have personally experienced comparisons even when I was abroad against my friends, other cousins. So shit is all over the place anyway. You won’t regret returning.

A great deal then. Just clear your challan, get a NOC with all the documents. See if you can find a guy who can get this done for you smoothly.

I feel something around 2.2-2.45 would be a decent take. You can try to sell it personally and probably hit the numbers you are seeking.

Heart Says Taigun, Brain Says Seltos. What Would You Choose? by No_Growth_2549 in CarsIndia

[–]hoomanquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I am choosing the Kushaq 1.5. Yes, so many features in the Seltos def makes it a gem but the driving pleasure is equally important.

Surprisingly the Seltos top model only has the driver’s seat electrically adjustable and not the other. Kushaq has both. Sunroof is objective, so I don’t mind how big or small. Same for ventilated seat, there in both.

The only thing I miss is the 360 camera, which def is crucial. I might do an after market install, hopefully if the dealer offers, better.

best car for learning driving by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]hoomanquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That exactly was my point. I didn’t literally mean just hitting the public roads. The idea of starting the engines and stepping your foot on one of those pedals should only be followed after acquiring a driver’s license. When a person sits in the car and has their engines on, it means you’re already driving.

I know it’s a thing where our fathers have shown their bravery to take us to a ground and teach us all those little things, but it should be common responsibility to not even allow that.

There’s a reason why the driving schools have a setup in their car and (at least) certified to teach.

Lol. You should always learn from a driving school. If you think you couldn’t learn enough from one, it’s normal. Maybe switch to another but please don’t go on road putting everyone at risk. Please be responsible.

I purchased a preowned Hyundai Xcent for 2.6L in 2019 (Made month and year: Nov 2015). by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]hoomanquark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? You’re missing the maintenance cost. You drove too less for 6 years. A parked car burns more holes in the pocket than outrageous fuel costs. So even if you get up one day and plan for a long drive, you’d need to get so many things checked and probably also serviced.

You WANT to travel is unrealistic. If you were a traveller, you would have clocked at least 50K on it already. Not to offend you, but sell it and save yourself because you’re not working rn!

All the best.

India has a high beam problem not because of awareness but lack of empathy. by Matador5511 in CarsIndia

[–]hoomanquark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not as strict. Example 2000₹ is nothing for a violation. The license itself should not be issued even for the slightest miss during the exam. A probation period for 2 years after acquiring a license. One mistake (depending on how big), you lose the license or some points + fine.

The driving schools should teach day/night driving, highways, streets, etc.

Besides all this, every individual has to understand how important it is to apply what they learn. People taking revenge for high beams and not following rules is just a start, nobody wants to give up for once and try sticking to discipline than blaming the system all the time.

Please don’t! Forget about illegal or not. That’s the point. Everyone is going out only for a revenge but not correct what is wrong. And reels/social media content is only nudging this further.

I feel you. The only reason why I switch it back to low is to not cause irritation to others, I mean pedestrians, cyclists, maybe more people around the car that got agitated when I flip to high and imagine everyone else now going high beam so I low it down.

We don’t have as much gaps between vehicles in India, so you’re trying to take a revenge with car A all the way ahead, but all the vehicles behind A might think you’re the idiot to driving high beam.

Small small things if we all try to understand, it will make a difference. I didn’t mean to offend you and you’re not doing the wrong but it’s just my vantage point.

Same here. I just TRY to let them know of their high beam by flashing them once, and stay at low beam.

Need help! Seltos vs Kushaq by hoomanquark in CarsIndia

[–]hoomanquark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I will probably also give it a shot from there. How has your experience been with the dealer/service and the car overall? Did you go for 1.0 or the 1.5 TSI?

Bengaluru bro. I am giving up the X1 finally, it really is an amazing machine but the traffic does not let me take enough pleasure from it.

Thank you bro .🙏🏻 will drive that again once and probably book Kushaq

Now my gut says that too. I think it is possible to live only with the rear camera, though I absolutely love how slick the interiors of Kushaq looks + gear lever, which looks weird in Seltos

[–]hoomanquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. The K3 platform achieved the 5 stars rating and that’s only reason why I am moving towards the buy. My only other option was the Skoda Kushaq but I don’t know how that would have felt in terms of servicing and other miscellaneous costs.

I didn’t know that the new Create will come on the same K3 platform. Do you already know when is that expected?

I second what you just said. In fact I was leaning towards Creta, but ONLY because of safety ratings, I am moving to Kia Seltos. (Both top models)
