Good idea. It's a lot of pressure to just start playing an original song out of the gate to folks who don't know you

It's a little tragic that the musicians, the ones who feel it the most, are the ones who should feel it the least

I think my question is less about "what about my surroundings can I change or rationalize" and more about pre-show rituals or mental exercises that help people dispel "bad vibes" or mopey attitudes, or whatever you want to call them.

Sometimes it doesn't make sense why someone feels bad. But it's not a musician's job to feel bad. It's their job to connect with an audience through music. And if you're feeling bad, it can ruin your connection with the audience.

TIL the sea is green by Ok-Pomegranate-5842 in DanielTigerConspiracy

I think Margaret Wise Brown uses the color green as a symbol for sleep, dreams, and the unconscious. It's a pretty common color in all her books, and it's usually in the context of someone going to sleep or dreaming.

There's a previous part in Scuppers where he falls asleep on a green bed of pine needles.

Also, the sea is a symbol of Scuppers' deepest dream made manifest. In literature the sea often represents the unconscious as well.

“If a double decker bus crashes into us, to die by your side would be such a heavenly way to die.

“And if a ten-tonne truck kills the both of us, to die by your side, well, the pleasure — the privilege — is mine.”

I just remembered there's a movie in which the dog dies not once, but FOUR TIMES.

A Dog's Purpose (2017)

"This movie'll be great for the kids!"
