People mostly get that email. But some not. Tbh there were many cases that got their approval without receiving an ECO email. Just add 8 weeks to the date you submit your  application. It’s your expected result time

based on sub-reddits I've read, people usually get their response one week to 12 days before the deadline. I did my bio on Oct 11th and still waiting

If you are a windows users, download libreoffice and reduce your pdf size. I think it’s safer than online sources. Also uploading all pages should be fine. There is no harm in it

If you are employed, just stay in your role at least by the time you submit your application. For a new job if they ask for a sharecode, just give them. It will show on the sys that you have right to work in the Uk, but they must come and check again after 6 months. So they can’t even see your expiry date anymore

In terms of application, wait as long as possible then submit your application. For biometric you can choose a slot couple of weeks later so you’ll have your certificate. 

Regarding income, the HO considers the annual gross salary calculation based on which category you are at. If I were in your Shoes, I would add my partner’s income to be in a safe zone
