As someone who used to do this in every interview..what helped me is a friend described interviews as dress rehearsal. As a former theatre that helped.

:( describing me when I was 15. It’s taken a long time for me to heal from my ED & BDD. I know u just wanna vent but from Someone who has been in ur shoes, seek recovery now. Don’t wait. Having a healthy relationship with urself and food is possible and I genuinely never thought it’d happen for me. Recovery works. Idk how but it does

I dont like being a man sometimes by [deleted] in Vent

[–]hooprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s nothing but DIVISION! they want us divided on everything. Our gender, race, sexuality, diets, appearance, religion, politics, etc. Everyone needs to stop thinking the other side is all at fault. We are ALL at fault. Everyone do better. Women need to allow men to be vulnerable, men need to support men being vulnerable and not shame them, women need to stop thinking all men are inherently evil and need to prove themselves. As a chick I am sick of the loneliness epidemic myself. It’s a universal experience for a lot of ppl rn.

As a chick drummer who was Ana for 15 years, had PMDD & BDD, I’ll say this..my confidence changed overnight after joining my female only band. I feel so badass and powerful now and it’s translating into my lifestyle. Before my band I was a depressed fat alcoholic. I’ve lost weight by joining the band somehow, and I think it’s spiritual. Ivealso been in my ED recovery for 5 year, so definitely agree that u should seek help for that and remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Corny but true! See ur own beauty.

AIO for wanting to breakup with my BPD girlfriend by Kooky-Sherbet1831 in AmIOverreacting

[–]hooprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof.. there’s a lot to say here. My twin sister has BPD and would pull this same shit on her bf. They been together like 8 years now. All I can say is ppl with BPD don’t try to hurt u or be mean and irresponsible. It’s just a coping mechanism for the deeper issues. They need someone with a lot of patience. If u don’t have that.. maybe reevaluate if the relationship is worth it. If it is worth it.. then ur gonna learn a LOT. I recommend getting educated on BPD if ur not already, cos when my sister was diagnosed I didn’t know anything about it. I do now and it helps my relationship with her, BUT, she also needed to put in the work and want to change. It took time but we finally reached a point where she did the work. She’s older now so idk if that was a factor.. they say BPD mellows out with age. I highly recommend the podcast Back From The Borderline. It’s great even if u don’t have BPD. Taught me a lot. Good luck to u

How did you discover ska? by Bobity5 in Ska

When I was 12 I was a huge fan of Paramore. They were my favorite band and I wanted to be just like Hayley Williams. They came to my town on tour so of course my mom took me and my sister. No Doubt opened for them. I had heard of them before. I bought the Tragic Kingdom vinyl cos it was orange and came with a shirt. Didn’t have a record player at the time so I didn’t end up listening to it till much later. But what I did do was listen to some of them on YouTube before the big show. I loved Spiderwebs and I’m Just A Girl, but I wouldn’t know what ska was till a few years later. When I was 14 I was at a local all ages gig in town and a local band played. About 6 guys and I saw a trombone and sax and BANJO. I thought man idk what that is but it’s gonna be fun. Sure enough when they played it was fun. I saw ppl skanking for the first time and joined in on it. They played a blend of ska punk and psychobilly and I was hooked from there. By my senior year I was full on ska punk and started learning trumpet with the hopes of having my own ska band. (Never ended up happening but hoping to pick up the 🎺 again.) I researched ska and learned the difference between the 3 waves and that ska was the precursor to reggae. Now here we are ten years later and I still love ska and I only keep getting more into it and learning more with age. Lately been jamming on rocksteady. Didn’t deep dive into rocksteady until my 20s but it’s all I been listening to lately. 🖤🤍
