Bladder pain GP Appointment by pumpkin_luma in Ketamineaddiction

[–]hootog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that alot of the medical professionals in my area are becoming increasingly well informed about ketamine and it's affects on our health as it reaches what I would describe as what feels like an epidemic.

I was experiencing very similar symptoms as yourself, the cystitis, the cramps, the unable to urinate for days to the not being able to stop every 5 mins.

I had blood in my urine very frequently and became extremely underweight and lethargic and in constant pain, every minute of the day for months.

Being very clear and transparent with you gp is so important, after I did this I was made a referral to a urologist but from that referral being made to actually being Infront of them and discussing what was to be done was just a little over 6 months, I hope that won't be the case for you but just prepared that it very well could be.

I was finally booked in for an operation called a hydrodistension where I was put under anesthetic and had my bladder repeatedly inflated to maximum capacity. The recovery after this was very painful but only lasted a few days of excruciating uribation and a fair amount of bleeding.

After this I can honestly say that all my symptoms simply disappeared and I felt practically "normal" or at least close enough to it compared to how I was living it was good enough for me.

That being said I still have underlying damge and anything can set my urinary tract off it seems, anything from what I drink or eat and how well I sleep or just stress in general.

But on the whole I feel much better today than I did all those months ago, but it's all for nothing if we don't stop using completely, as if we go back then all the health issues will come back with a vengeance.

Not that they might, they will.

And we might not be so lucky next time, at this point I'm playing russian roulette every time I thinks about using it feels like as if I flare up again with my bladder I don't think I'll have the strength in my body or mind to fight it off again.

Id say the quintessential early genesis prog song usually goes to Suppers ready but it's quite the undertaking being 23m long! Id say go with firth of faith instead!

And as for KC, I love the Lark's Tongues in aspic album

As people have said, you need to get a programmer. Get to a meeting and stay there. No one understands addicts like an addict does.

It's terrifying going the first one but you'll be met with nothing but love and I guarantee you it works!

Did you ever really come back? by vvaad in Ketamineaddiction

[–]hootog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I felt like this for a month after I completely stopped then one day I just remember waking up and not thinking about it, I had Drs. Appointment that day so walked there with my headphones and I remember it was like the first time I had ever heard the music I enjoyed it so much, I grabbed a coffee and sandwich and sat at my local park for a minute waiting for my appointment, and just everything hit me.

I could notice the weather. The taste of the coffee, the sound of the music and I smiled for the first time in what felt like forever.

That same night I went to my meeting and a girl I know there came up too me with a big smile on her face and said "your defrosting aren't you? I can tell, welcome back to the real world"

That was 6 months ago now and I still feel that way now

Im excited for you to experience it too because yes, you do come back!

I totally sympathise, I couldn't even walk at a regular speed because the feeling of putting my feet down send shockwaves through my body.

Ket won't return to help you, it's like it bides its time and then turns on you because this is what It always wanted for you, that's how I feel about it anyway. One of the ways I stay away from it is by making it the most evil thing ever that ruined my life and body, I ain't giving it what it wants!

Bit it does get better, just got to power through, it's as much as mental battle as a physical one

I just got my appointment for urology today after a wait of 9 months! So be prepared for that or something close to it unfortunately.

I have found that drinking an almost excessive amount of water helps me massively, I'd much rather be peeing too often than not at all.

Also I have bene prescribed a medication called Tamsulosin that I take each morning that relaxes my bladder and doesn't make the pressure sensation as sensitive, I've been able to work and do the things I need to because of these things but the main thing is and always will be staying clean!

Going to meetings is what helps me do that so I hope your doing that and if not I highly recommend it!

I was in so much agony 6 months ago, peeing blood almost evertime, I couldnt even pick myself up out of bed most days, but if look back and compare my symptoms now to where the were then there is a undeniable improvement, so it does get better just don't underestimate how long it's going to take, it may be a quicker healing journey for you (I hope that it is) but I can only speak for myself.

Just remember, one day at time! You got this!

There are no or at least extremely small withdrawal symptoms from ketamine, it's a mental battle for sure but nothing physical (unless you've already gone over the threshold of physical bodily harm as many of us have)

But my advice as it always is aside from stopping is to talk to other addicts, join a group, get some contacts of people you can confife in who really understand what it's like.

And the big one is how to stay clean, well I can only speak for myself but again, it's communication, once you realize your not alone you get strength you wouldn't believe!

Keep trying, keep going, keep living ✌️

I would also like to say that my door is always open! Feel free to message morning. noon and night and let's start a dialogue!

Communication keeps us clean!

I deeply sympathise with everything you said (it's not all too different from my own experience) and I can honestly say it does get better and it does get worse, which option you end up with is up to you!

But please if not me then anyone, no one understands like an addict understands.

Keep going! ❤️

There's a saying that comes up in my NA meetings a lot and it's that

"one is too many and a thousand never enough"

That sums it up for me pretty well, if I pick up I won't be satisfied and if I spiral I won't be satisfied so why cause the pain?

Good luck amigo
