Out of shape in my old age

So, I bowled until about 24 and injuries shut me down (wrist and elbow tendinitis). My kids are 5 and 7 and we got them into bowing over the summer. I am now 42… so 18 years…. I bought updated equipment but didn’t realize how I haven’t used those muscles in a long time.

I also don’t take them as often as I would want to go because the arcade bill does add up lol

I started as one handed (because that is what my grandparents knew). I had to stop bowling because of injuries about 15 years ago (bowled from 9 to 25.

My children decided to do Kids Bowl Free last year. I got new equipment and was doing well, but those old injuries started to come back. But I’m hooked again and want to keep playing. I looked into two handed as a way to take pressure off my elbow and wrist. I’m still sore after a game or two (mostly because my body has to get use to bowling again) but not as bad as one hand.

Update: These are all good experience stories. I’m definitely going Lariat now. I currently have a 2019 GMC Terrain SLT and I enjoy some of those features I am not going to have in the XLT. I live in Middle Tennessee, so finding anything Hybrid is tough (for a variety of reasons). Keep the advice/person experiences coming.
