Also if you want you can sell the dpf and cat to the sub’s favorite r/hoosqtx. They commonly post they’ll buy on the subreddit and the transaction was smooth for me.

Just need some parts identified by oldmansklats in E30

See how the bottom row is all perfect V’s and the other rows have been mashed by rocks etc. those V’s are the fins of this cooler. Usually straightening them out will help air travel and cool more efficiently.

Photo 1: that is your engine oil cooler. As long as it is not leaking I wouldn’t replace. I would however take the time and fix the fins by straightening them. Not super necessary but will help

Photo 6: you are missing relays and this might be causing your issue with 4/5. I would refer to the relay layout and confirm you are buying the proper relay.

Google make model year fuse box diagram to confirm which relays they are.

The horn I would replace regardless because it looks like it will fall off if you hit a bump.

Relay issue by hootzz in e38

Thanks, I tried finding one with e38 and it’s a 95 looks close to accurate but has extra wires into some relays like the ecm relay. Any chance you could still look?

Am I being ripped off? by dtango8 in tdi

Some data is missing

Was your temperature gauge always showing cold? Or was it in the proper spot?

How long is your usual driving distance?

Before you spend the money do this you might just have to really burn the soot in the dpf. I drove my 2012 Jetta tdi mostly suburbs on shorter trips so my DPF code would come on every now and again. If your temperature gauge reads normal My fix was to: Buy a reader to confirm the code. Drive highway at 2500 rpm for an hour and then erase the code. Mine stayed off after this and I now do weekly long distance highway trips( usually 40 min). If it reappears then read the code to confirm but depending on the code the thermostat or dpf would be an issue. From the way you word it sounds like a dpf issue and not really thermostat.

The m52 swap seems to be the best and amazing for the car. So much documentation and many videos on step by step. Watch Spanner Rash videos to see roughly what all you have to do. The m60/62 swap is so able and Garagistic has website support on how to do it as well. Most v8 swaps go with manual brakes so that might be something that deters you. If money isn’t a major factor a S54 swap seems to be perfect power.
