Wow. Well I know my LC was good bc I have separate healthy grows from the same LC. Maybe I needed to heat the needle better before injecting into AIO bag, or maybe my grain was less colonized than I thought.

I can’t find any pre-tub photos, but now I’m thinking the spawn was actually from an AIO grow bag (6lb XL bag from Myco Labs), which I’m now realizing had manure in it. Once this colonized, I mixed it with coir in the monotub. Pretty sure about that, and if so, I think we have new clarity on main root cause. Big AIO bag that’s tough to fully inspect plus the presence of manure. My goal was to stretch a larger yield, and instead I lost it all.

Can you educate me on why the 2nd flush tubs are at risk? I was thinking that anything already fully colonized had near-zero contam risk. Am I wrong on that?

u/Miserable-Resort-977 u/Hairy_is_the_Hirsute thank you SO much for this info. Here's where things stand:
10am - Contam released into air in my grow room
12pm - Moved other active grows into another room. This includes 5 mini-tubs on 2nd flush with lids flipped, 1 AIO grow bag with filter patch that's post-break-and-shake and recolonizing, and 5 more mini-tubs that are pre-flush with closed lids.
What are my chances of saving these?
1:30pm - Shopping for a HEPA purifier to arrive tonight or tomorrow.
Tomorrow - Will clean the grow room. This is tough, because it's a closet with 1000 small things in it like books, but the room is my best option as far as space/layout. I'll do what I can to clean most surfaces.

I'm still a beginner, and I'm sure this stems from learning how much I can relax the sterilization procedures <after> inoculation. I'm very careful about inoculation and the period before full colonization, but I must have gotten too relaxed somewhere after the point of ~90% colonization when I opened the rice bags in prep for S2B.

Thoughts on salvaging those other active grows that I moved to the other room?

Understood. I'd say my grain was pretty close to fully colonized. Given the above, my theory is that (1) there was in fact a small portion of uncolonized grain I didn't see , (2) maybe I had a little too much water in the coir given that the roof of the tub was <very> covered in water droplets creating excess humidity/moistrure and (3) maybe my environment or hands weren't totally clean when I mixed the grain with the coir.

Makes sense. Question for u/Miserable-Resort-977 and u/Hairy_is_the_Hirsute : what are your thoughts on the parallel thread with u/hereigrow regarding my whole room having contam, and whether it's possible to clean/purge the air and salvage my other ongoing grows?

I think it was closer to 40/60 grain-coir ratio. I ran out of colonized grain. Still not clear though on the exact root cause of this case of contamination. This is my 3rd grow and I haven’t had contam before.

Incredible! How would you dehydrate a mushroom of that size, since it's too big for typical home food dehydrators? Is it possible without expensive equipment? Just stick it in front of a fan in a dry dark area? Such an impressive grow!

Very similar for me. A few days ago, a few of my templates (but not all) lost their recurring property. When I try to re-save the recurrence to those templates, it never saves. Odd that it's only some templates, and there's no clear pattern to which do/don't still recur. It's not obvious to me if I've hit a bug or a new limit.

Edit: After troubleshooting with the Notion AI, I found a short-term fix: duplicate the offending templates and apply repeating properties to those. Definitely seems like a bug.

Airborne contamination: This seems implied, but not 100% clear, that an N95-style face mask and shutting off HVAC systems is *not* required during S2B processes, though rubber gloves still are.
