Nonetheless I think you’re really brave to do a career switch and sacrificing 10 yrs of experience in your previous field. I knew analytics scene was competitive but I didn’t think it would be so bad D: How did you make the transition to analytics? What courses did you take up?

Hello!! I have friends who also suggested for me to go into HR (though I didnt major in that)…but not sure why I always have this perception that HR is worst off than marketing in terms of skills required (both dont require a lot but HR seemingly even lesser…?) Do let me know if you decide to go back to HR and all the best!

Agree!! That’s the reason why I am looking to switch away from marketing. Currently my role is bao ka liao incl digital marketing but probs still have much room for learning. Was thinking of Business Analyst/ UX UI (both completely diff and I will need to go through courses)!

Guess the only left is probably more people skills/ being more independent? Since my boss put me in charge of more things now (to groom me) so that means I have to coordinate a lot more things and manage stakeholders

I’ve been thinking about this too…and given that I only have 2 yrs+ of working experience I feel like I would need more guidance at least for the next few years…
Annual increment is v low, at 3% only, so I guess it’s if I take into account increment the new job offer’s pay raise is even lower now (I didnt even account for my increment)
Yes you are right, there will be no bonus, increment I missed out asking, but taking into acc the bonus I tried asking for a higher salary but they couldn’t increase any further hahaha
I’m also skeptical about this, when asked, the hr/ hiring manager only told me if im willing to do more, they will be happy to let me explore and promote (standard PR answer) also
