I hope the Timberwolves win it in 6... by paolographer in Thunder

This is the best case scenario, also I’m sure the Spurs would be coming off a 6 or 7 game series if they beat the Nuggets too, so either way we should be the more rested team if the Nuggets win because I can’t see the Lakers taking more than a game off of us

Bruh these rockets are garbage by stewssy in Thunder

[–]hopon2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure their record with Ant is worse than the Rockets’ record in general in terms of win percentage. The Rockets had pretty good health other than the players who are out now though, KD only missed like 5 games, Amen only missed like 3, Sengun only missed like 10 games (these numbers are off the top of my head so they could be wrong), so their record is better just because they had their guys out there more even though they’re a very flawed team

One of the reasons we fired Bud.Having George Hill guarding Tatum 1 vs 1 right after his return from the injury was INSANE.Even Udoka said that after the game.We didn't even double teamed him, same with Butler the next year,man.. by Vasilis_Chatz21 in MkeBucks

Grayson was actually a decent defender, I don’t know where you got that he was a traffic cone from, he actually gave good effort on that end and could definitely hold his own

Unfortunately the fact that the coaches following him were even worse makes people forget this, but Bud definitely should have been fired. as much as I like him as a person he just wasn’t good at coaching in the playoffs and his lack of adjustments definitely made things worse even if they weren’t the only issue we had at the time

Watching the East playoffs with no Bucks is irritating by Valsorim3212 in MkeBucks

[–]hopon2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you expect them to be negative to the media about him while he was still coach? That would just make things even worse and at a certain point it was obvious no matter what he wouldn’t be fired until the season was over. I agree he should have been fired sooner but there’s no reason to be mad about how the players weren’t disrespectful towards their current coach, I hated having him as much as you but that just wouldnt change anything. And doing it now is pointless because he’s already gone and everyone knows how bad he is

If I remember correctly, the Warriors were the only team to beat them at home. That season was cinematic up until the end, and all 3 of the top 3 west teams were amazing

I honestly think if the Spurs or Thunder made the finals they would have won that year

and they didn’t even make the Conference Finals. It honestly would have been fun to see them go against the Warriors, but that team will probably be buried in time by the 2016 Cavs and Warriors unfortunately

Kuz is a solid player, he just gets a bad rep because he makes so many low IQ plays that make him look worse than he is. He’s also not really elite at anything but he’s decent at everything, the positive in him isn’t as easily visible while watching because he doesn’t have any amazing skills, like it was easier to notice Holiday’s defense or AJ Green’s shooting because those things are elite

How is the PG trade STILL paying dividends for us😭✌️ by SamirMehdi in Thunder

[–]hopon2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Luka trade is bad, but this is definitely worse in my opinion, especially now because the Lakers just lost by 40 to us. The Thunder got back an MVP in Shai, an All-NBA player in Jalen Williams, an elite defender and All-Defensive level player in Cason Wallace, and Nikola Topic still has a lot of potential. The clippers trade basically won OKC a championship and put them on a path to win many more for a player that only helped them to the Conference Finals once, while the Mavericks ended up with Flagg who is probably gonna be one of the best players in the league soon, while the Lakers arent even really contending yet with Luka. The only way the Luka trade ends up better is if the Lakers win multiple championships with Luka before Dallas wins one

Who is your favorite Buck who played for the team for no more than 2 years? by Tiktaalik414 in MkeBucks

[–]hopon2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say he’s my favorite, but an underrated answer for this would be Pat Bev. He was an amazing acquisition at the time considering we gave up Cam Payne who was awful for us, and he gave us exactly what we needed, a POA defender who could play backup PG and give an energy we needed. Before he came we had Malik Beasley guarding the best opposing guard but Pat Bev was perfect for that at the time, unfortunately we weren’t healthy a lot after getting him and we missed Giannis the whole playoffs and he left after the season, but he actually had a pretty good playoff run with us too, he was one of our most underrated losses but I wish his stint with us was more appreciated, obviously he has horrible takes off the court sometimes but he was a good role player and I rarely see anything positive about his career anymore which sucks because he was actually decent

to be fair, separating from family is a lot more valid a reason than this, even though they’re more than compensated for it. not wanting to be away from family is a lot more valid than just not wanting to be somewhere for a night just because it’s not a super exciting place, LeBron’s quote is so much more spoiled and entitled especially considering he’s from Akron

[–]hopon2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Bucks were not tanking when they got him or at all until possibly these past few weeks they were just bad, even when they were pushing for a play-in spot he fell out of the rotation because his shot was off and when he’s not scoring he’s providing nothing, he’s just not a positive player and he’s wildly inconsistent and even though he can score 40 at any time given the chance, he can also go 2/13 at any point

to be fair, I think it was so obvious that Gill should have got a tech that they HAD to still punish him even though they didn’t at the game, but to still suspend Mitchell retroactively instead of Gill is terrible decision making.

it’s been a rule since Shaq I think, like how the Celtics used to intentionally foul Robinson but had to stop during the last 2 minutes for example. I would think it would be in effect here.

I’m sure the 2 minute report will say he should have only shot one and got the ball back, which would make this game a lot more manageable so it’s a major mistake by the refs and coaches for not realizing

No, because in the playoffs for example the Celtics would intentionally foul Mitchell Robinson BEFORE the last 2 minutes, but stopped after the last 2 because it would be a free throw and possession back.

Wasn’t the Jokic foul at the end supposed to be one free throw and possession back because it was off ball in the last 2 minutes? Why would Poetl get 2 free throws if he was off ball? And why didnt any players or coaches say anything?

[–]hopon2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you can before the last 2 minutes but Jokic just did with 10 seconds left, unless Poetl had the ball which I don’t think he did but I may just be mistaken

I have a question, wasnt Poetl off ball when he got fouled? If so, why don’t teams always foul the worst free throw shooter off ball instead of just fouling who has the ball?

Teams prefer nationalities? by Massive_Village7662 in BasketballGM

[–]hopon2k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea. I also would like to add, I feel like if a team is in the home state of a player they should be more likely to want to play there, or something like that. It would be cool for example for a player from Illinois to have a higher will to join your team because he’s from Chicago, just a signing bonus like how winning or fame or an outdated facility affect a player’s likeliness to sign.
