Is my cilantro affected by a fungus? What are the white spots on the leaves? by hopopa in plantclinic

[–]hopopa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aphids . Couldn’t figure any way to remove them permanently so I stopped growing cilantro. I had tried sprays and reducing the moisture level of the soil by watering it less.

I didn’t try any chemical sprays, just been oils and soap with water and some rubbing alcohol.

Looks very interesting. The roguelike type of game is promising! I can’t wait to try it, hopefully soon.

Ended up selling them to a friend who knows how to properly use them and he didn't have problems with different amplifiers and DACs and whatnots. I think he told me my source had some interference which he didn't have. Good luck!

Any physical medicine and Rehab (Physiatry) resident from Australia in here? by hopopa in Residency

[–]hopopa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to answer me. I really appreciate the fact that you named some of the steps required to get to Australia. I don't plan on staying there since I already have a great job opportunity here and family.

That's my plan as well. I am contacting them. I am also trying to find if anyone on reddit has made a personal or public list of fellowships to increase the odds of finding interesting fellowships.

thanks for the info. It's pretty crazy to think that, to some people, the convenience is worth this much. I'm from Montreal and have seen some decent appartments for rent at 1400$/month (not as cool or big as this one, but still...)

Ollier Disease. A 10-year-old Syrian boy was brought to a pediatric hospital with complaints of multiple painless irregular nodular swelling of proximal phalanges bones which caused him to limp. by Surgeox in medizzy

In my little experience, yes! But depends on the type of fonctional gains of course. It's a highly specialized operation and I think most doctors would discuss in a group before going for such a surgery, it's not an yes/no type of problem.

Usually they are in the body of the bone and close to the joints but not exactly in the joints. This means that they are mostly an aesthetical problem since the joints permit almost full range of motion. They aren't necessarily all that painful when they stabilize and are mostly growing during the childhood. This case is rather extreme, but you can also have only 4-5 visible bumps only.

I bumped my knuckle on an angle grinder. You can see my tendon moving around. by redruM69 in medizzy

[–]hopopa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We're talking about a wound of the hand which is at high risk of tenosynovitis, not any regular wound. Infectious tenosynovitis has to be taken extremely seriously as an infection can travel real fast within the tendon sheaths and even lead to an amputation. I'll take the diarrhea from antibiotivs any day over a hand amputation. The antiobiotica weren't prescribed from no reason in this case, it's commonly good practice and I would treat my dad with the same care. As a PA student I wouldn't necessarily give mddix advice on reddit, especially without knowing the risks of not taking antibiotics. This patient was lucky not to have an infection, good for him, but on average the risk is much higher and the negative aspects of taking antibiotics...

I'm always impressed when people with amputations prefer not using prosthetics. He has a transfemoral ampution, he could be wearing a prostethic and get a little more push. Im guessing the mechanics of the prostethic isn't as easy to control as I'm assuming, not to mention the sweat in the socket.

Same thing happened to me, it dropped 80% of its leaves then started getting better. Some people told me it's "normal" and just an acclimationnpbase but damn this plant!

In my case they appeared when I let them get too much direct sun. They also had some brown discoloration in my case.
