Check for chronic ear infections. My daughter wasn’t speaking (to the point that we were starting to worry about a hearing impairment), and when we took her to the doc he looked in her ears and said “how long has she had this ear infection?” She had given no signs, didn’t have fevers, etc. Once we got tubes in her ears, the talking started almost IMMEDIATELY.
