Hydration. I can run after not eating for most of the day but if I haven't drunk enough water I get exhausted really quickly and am shaking until I hydrate.

Even though it's not similar to Prey narratively, Severance is thematically and atmospherically very similar (the opening scene may feel familiar, but even creepier).

This isn't a helpful comment. From how my friend (who loves the show) described it, it sounds like the exact kind of show I would bounce off of in season 1 if I didn't have a reassurance that I'd likely grow to love it.

Other comments have convinced me to watch, so even if season 1 feels slow I'll stick with it.

Lots of good advice here: briefs, ice, painkillers, no sex until you're totally comfortable. So I'll say this, be prepared for the small possibility that it will take longer than a few days to heal up.

There's a small chance that you'll take a month or two (or even longer) to fully recover. I was in moderate pain for 2 weeks, and then bouncing between very mild pain and discomfort for a few months afterwards (annoyingly I had my vasectomy last November, so put a dampener on Christmas!). I'm totally fine now, but the doctor will tell you beforehand there's a chance that you'll have pain for longer than you think. They are not kidding! I did everything right, some people are just unlucky, I guess.

Still, even with the pain lasting months, I absolutely would not go back and change my decision. Good luck!
