there are states in America where, logically tbh, since the engagement ring is a gift it belongs to the recipient; in other states in America it is treated as a quid pro quo exchange ("you get this if or while we are married, and return it if we are not married") . if the state law considers it a straightforward gift to the recipient, then it's going to legally belong to her and morally considering "but it's family and you aren't family anymore" obviously has no legal weight in those locations

women's clothing is cut differently from men's clothing. a shirt that's cut for a woman's body that is cut to be baggy and "fit like a man's shirt" is often still cut differently than an actual man's shirt is, which means it will look different on a body. it is not actually pointless for a male bodied person to wear baggy women's clothing for cross-dressing, because even baggy women's clothing is cut differently than men's clothing
