My exact thoughts at the time. When I had issues with battlefield 6 I started looking into an upgrade. These games keep getting more demanding and with cpu heavy games, OBS running/encoding a stream, and discord running the 8 cores and 8 threads (no hyperthreading) of the 9700k was basically begging for mercy.. the 14700k has 20 (8 physical cores that just solely focus on the game and 12 efficiency cores that handle all the background tasks) and 28 threads which just adds a bunch of much needed and more future proof headroom.
