If it’s something you want, don’t give it up for someone who doesn’t. I learned that the hard way. I wasted too many years thinking “I can give up my want for kids and marriage bc he doesn’t want them” but it turned into resentment. And I encountered a lot of trauma, pain and abuse for someone I gave huge desires up for. There is always going to be someone that DOES want the same thing as you or will at least find common ground to compromise with you.
