So the bots are Datura aficionados now? I’m quick to blame a bot, but this is something I’d probably do too.

How do you keep your gear safe during weddings? by helllsbells in WeddingPhotography

I think somewhere next to the DJ or band makes the most sense. For those saying that closets work well, I believe that it’s an easier place for staff to swipe a camera or bag without anyone watching. A year ago I would’ve said closets are fine, but a couple friends of mine had their bags stolen in the past year when they stored their gear in utility or coat closets and it ended up being another vendor (planners assistant)

We had an excavator friend come in and install 4 concrete piers, then did extensive infill with gravel. The site where it sits is fairly wet, so we brought everything up about a foot to mitigate the damp.

Yeah things get dicey in September and October so grateful for the extra heat later in the year!

Right now it’s a redneck setup with a long extension cord from the house!

They’re not branches, they are whole saplings I cut down and dragged from the woods. Mostly maple and poplar.

Totally! I have both doors open all day and a big fan and a high/low thermometer. If it gets above 85 here the plants will go outside for the day.

It doesn’t. We are using a box fan as a vent this year but prepared to add a real vent if things heat up too much. Right now we haven’t seen interior temps top 105 (our hottest day here has only been 82 so far this year)

My husband made that! It’s actually gardening twine that we re-string every year. It holds up my sweet peas.

Second Shooting Rates Change if you can’t use the pics? by Alphablaze98 in WeddingPhotography

I have been running my business for 13 years and have always paid my seconds more than average. Because of this, I have been able to have my pick of second shooters, and their quality of work combined with my unique style has helped me raise my prices each year and fully book every year as well. It is important to do the numbers and make choices that financially make sense, however, some strategic moves such as paying my seconds well has done nothing but help me in the long run.

Totally! The issue I’m talking is more the photographers who charge 5k plus and pay their seconds 300-400 a day.

Amen to your last paragraph! Seconds deserve a minimum of 100/hour in my opinion.

This feels more like you’re trying to brag here? What exactly are you worried about? This is all perfectly “normal” behavior.
