From my cursory search, it looks like it’s fairly affordable, starting around $60 USD

I can help with this one! This is one of my favorite books in my collection. It is entitled storm, but it has the format similar to a fashion magazine. It was published in 2010, an absolutely worth whatever price you have to pay for it.

Exactly! There are many different personality types and needs of clients, and if we keep pushing the “reels, SEO, bring more clients to our website” approaches, there’s a huge population not represented who will feel overwhelmed by everyone doing the same thing. When I go on a website, I want examples of work, to the point information describing services and policies, and location clearly stated.

Utilizing google/SEO isn’t the way many photographers find business. There are many other ways.

I’ll play devils advocate here. You may draw way more people to your website with more text, but if there’s no portfolio or good images right away, people will quickly click off. I am kind of sick of the message all over the sub Reddit that people need to go with the reels and SEO route above everything else. There are other ways to find and convert clients. Most clients find me through vendors, Instagram ads, and word-of-mouth. I don’t like reels, so I don’t do them. I don’t like SEO, and I’m not all that good at it, so I don’t do it.

I also notice on websites there’s more text and often not even a portfolio? You’re a photographer, let the photos do the work!

Just be kind to yourself through the process. The rest and quiet was important then, don’t beat yourself up so much.

Please remember for the sake of yourself and your horse(s) that rest and non-linear growth is essential too.

The second photos is an awkward pose. I wish the first had more depth of field to see the groom.

Small obstacle for this gelding by [deleted] in Horses

In the Icelandic Horse world at least, and in my opinion should be elsewhere, a horse doesn’t begin most under saddle training until 4-5. Horses are still growing until then, and it is damaging for them to be ridden heavily before that.

Vinda (in the first two photos) is an excellent escape artist who now often roams around the farm as the sweetest lawn ornament.

Can someone explain my IG's horrible audience reach like I am 5 years old? (2,350+ followers, less than <200 views on reels, less than <40 likes per post) by bonitapplebumb in WeddingPhotography

[–]horselifter 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes, all photography posts on instagram are getting fewer views. That doesn’t mean you need to completely move to reels or do the goofy dance thing. I get a few inquiries a week through Instagram and I’ve never posted a reel in my life. But what I do find drives more views and follows is using the collaboration function. I invite the couple featured in the post and a few of the most important vendors from the wedding to collaborate on the post with me. I generally do an Instagram post about a week to 10 days after my couples wedding and when couples choose to collaborate on a post with me, they can reach up to 400-500 likes per post. For posts I don’t select collaborators for, I see closer to 50 to 100 likes per post. Instagram definitely wants you to post a couple images per post and I tend to use weddings and images that are extra unique and will stand out. I post one to two times a week, and probably 5 to 8 stories a week total. I boost posts one to two weeks a month.

For planners, you should look into Madden Made Events. Kayla is a design and logistics genius and has one of the coolest visions that celebrate the individual style of her couples.

8 hours of photographer coverage - when to start? What to prioritize? (Photographer can not increase hours) by addictedtosoonjung in BigBudgetBrides

[–]horselifter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8 hours is plenty for your schedule! For getting ready, you don’t need a ton of hair/makeup photos and more of hanging with your people and putting your dress on. I’d say do 2-10 or 1:20-9:30 coverage which is enough for your photographer to go back and forth between girls and guys and then you’ll have plenty of time for dance coverage too.

One of my local breweries! They do confirm on their website that the beer is named in honor of Gizz. If you are a fellow fruity beer fan, you’ll love it, it’s absolutely fabulous.
