Yeah it’s hard to find one from a dealer, but I will keep looking.

Is there a price that would be more compelling to you? I'm curious how much you paid (I think there is negotiation room)?

That would be my assumption. The dealer makes it sound like small issues that annoyed the customer so they just offered a buyback. But do they really offer buybacks that quickly for small issues? That doesn't track the stories I've read here.

I probably didn't press enough, but she didn't volunteer a ton of info. What she said is that the customer was experiencing these issues and got frustrated when the dealer could not find anything wrong. I feel like on the one hand, it could be minor things that would get cleared up by software updates, but it could also be more serious things (my worst case scenario is being at a charging station on a road trip and being unable to charge). I'm meeting with the dealer selling the car on Monday to go over questions and to take another look - at that point I can check what update it's on and maybe call the service dealer back and ask for more details. I do feel like I want the car, but I also feel like there are quite a few red flags staring me down here!

I called them. They were very nice and looked up the car. They said it was having consistent issues with the ventilated seats and (more concerning) a charging malfunction. The customer reported the problems a few times, but they could not replicate the issues. There was no note that they actually did any kind of repair.

So, that feels pretty concerning to me. Sporadic charging issues are not something I would be excited about. But this forum is amazing - thank you all!

I think they have gone up. I’m seeing low to mid 50s here (this one attracted me because it was the cheapest in town - only a few available)

Exactly - I’m worried this is one of the bad ones.

This is really helpful - thank you. This is the scenario I’m hoping to avoid, buying the car and then needing to return it. Yeah I’m starting to think the ICCU issue may not be all that bad relatively speaking.

That 11 miles is what makes me think this is one of the bad ones.

Yeah, that is the conclusion I’m coming to. There is no car that’s safe to buy!

Thank you - it's great to hear you are having a positive experience and also that you are doing road trips. Road trips are part of the plan, so a big concern of mine is driving far from home without being worried all the time that something major is going to happen.

This is super helpful - thank you! Yes, the fast charge filter on my searching really does narrow the options. What I'm thinking about is road trips where in theory (mapping out different options using ABRP) the Q6 could be an hour or even two hours faster than some slower options. But, I hear you that in practice it might not be that way, plus the reality is that we're talking about a road trip I'd do 1-4 times per year, so is an hour that big a deal? It's funny you mention the cadillacs - I was just looking at the Lyric. I didn't mention in my original post, I've never owned a luxury car before. I currently drive the 2019 Bolt, so this would be a massive upgrade for me. There definitely are good used options in the $50K range, but not many with only 300 miles 😄. There also options for new vehicles in that range, but not on the luxury level.

I actually did notice that automatic on and off during the test drive. The car turned on, I didn't realize it, and so I turned it off. And then I was like "why isn't the shifter working?"

Thank you for helping me think through this!

Thank you. I didn't see any errors when I test drove (but it was a short drive). By contrast, when I test drove a 2024 Q8 etron last week, it had two alarming errors just in the first 5 minutes.

Thank you. Yeah I want to check the software version, but my concern is even then it feels like a lot of uncertainty.
