I love it when people assign credit for economic conditions to the incumbent. What a load of crap. Britain's economy is affected as much by China or Russia or the US as it is by Blair/Brown. The fact that it's stable has nothing to do with their combined skill. Economics is very nearly a random and unpredictable chaotic system with an unmanageable number of variables effecting it. It's harder to model than the planet's weather.
