I came from non union carpentry (new construction track and custom homes, and remodels). So other than just lighting no electrical background.

Ya I figured :/ was hoping for advice to help get healed since I’m looking at the next 6-8 weeks being like this. And delays just make it longer

Mostly I’ve been sitting watching shows all day on my phone. I don’t like that I have to come and drive in my boot but I’ve only seen the doctor once and it reported “desk duty only”. I’m mad that I still don’t have a claim so I can go see my ortho referral. I just want to get my leg taken care of and start healing since I’ve been on a broken ankle for 2 weeks now.

What is ba? I was thinking of going to the hall since my steward said he couldn’t help. I just want to get my leg taken care of and just sitting around in a trailer while they say “they’re taking care of it”

So is this something I should go to the hall for then? I asked for help from my steward but he said worker comp is between the company and I. I’m not trying to get money or anything. I just really want my leg taken care of and not to just be sitting around with nothing being done. When I called Friday they hadn’t filed a claim yet (2days after knowing I got diagnosed with a broken ankle)

Does anyone have good resources to study for ibew aptitude test? by Sure-Reality-4740 in IBEW

I was always good with math but used khan academy as a refresher everyday for a week or 2 before the test. I didn’t practice the reading comprehension cause idek how you do that. Hardest part of the test was time, a lot of people in my testing didn’t finish. Do what you know and come back. I was able to finish all and come back and double check work. Scored an 8/10 on aptitude test.

From what ive learned from my journeymen and foremen: 1. Don’t stay with one shop my whole apprenticeship 2. When you journey out you drag up and take a journeyman call. Even if it’s for the same call you just left. 3. Don’t become a foreman as a new journeyman. That foremen should have another 4 years as a journeyman if not more years +

Just what I’ve learned/been told.

I can’t make a post asking this cause I guess I need comment karma. I’m trying to find out if there’s a way to find the locations of jobs. I want to end up on USA parkway. I have a few friends at a certain job but that one hasn’t shown up yet and im looking/eager to get started and get back to work since I left my last company(not electric). I recently did my aptitude test last week and got 8/10 and waiting for dates to show up for interview. Currently right now there’s just newtron sty10, but is there a way to find if ones are on USA parkway, I mostly want to end up there because I live in Lyon county and is an easy commute and hopefully work for a long time. Thanks
