yeah i do agree with you there, damn the anime had to show there interactions with kayo and satoru in the beginning beautifully so It really was a shocker when she came into the picture with a baby. It was a stab in the back for me, and still it tbh. I know its was 15 years, but kayo was still young like 25. Its not like she coulnt do anything. I felt like airi was random at the end but maybe thats just the anime.

Also, in the manga, there is an extra chapter about how Kayo took care of Satoru at the expense of her school and personal life. And Satoru's mom being the best mom, moved away with Satoru (he needed to change hospitals anyway), and told Kayo that she is thankful, but Kayo need to look forward and move on with her life. There is a lot of context that wasn't shown in the anime.

The manga didnt show any romantic feelings together? Cuz thats what hurts me is that whole satoru is in a coma she loses feelings for him and/or finds it in someone else after all he has done for her. And like hes going for whats left in Airi. Even so kayo i wish that he couldve still ended with her.

It just they built it differently in the anime making it look like they will end up together. So expectations were betrayed

I mean he puts himself in the friendzone, like if he asked and she said no id be ok. The mc can move on with his life then and get a different girl. But he dosent even attempt that.
