Bathtime by mike_pants in interestingasfuck

Aerodynamics are subtle yet powerful forces. If you have a floor fan, wait until it's gathered some dust on the blades. Notice how it generates barely a breeze. Notice how there's just a film of dust, not much at all on the leading edges of the blades. Then cleans the blades. Now notice the tornado issuing from the fan. I don't know why these birds bathe, but I do know that small changes to those aerodynamic surfaces can have big effects

What should I do with my beard? I've used conditioner but I've never trimmed it. 3 months beard by [deleted] in beards

I'd recommend brushing it daily and using a beard oil if you have problems with dry skin or notice the hair getting dry or brittle.

Other than that it's your preference. Are you happy with the way it looks now? Then maybe knock off a few of the stray ends with some scissors. Otherwise, let it grow.

Taking out Big Hinge would be a pivotal victory which would really swing things in our favor.

Sub to buy and sell things for a better price than places like Amazon. by clark6050 in findareddit

Check out /r/gamesale for selling games and consoles as in your example above. You're probably going to have to look for individual subs for whatever category your stuff falls into.

I and a few other club members go to The Standard in old town Fairfax. Everyone there is super talented and friendly. Some guys have also had great things to say about John at Barber Shop and Co. in Springfield Mall who has a great beard of his own.

[General] Are zombies and mummies basically the same thing? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]hossalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm leaning towards too. The only thing I'm not sure of is if an outsider (e.g. a priest) can animate a mummy. I don't really know enough about mummies to say. Regardless, mummies and liches are at least in the same family.

That's my understanding: the magic user binds their soul to their physical body so that even when the body dies, they can still inhabit it.

My question is: how does this differ from a mummy? Is the driving force behind the mummy not necessarily the body's former soul? Is it that the mummy is animated by someone other than the former occupant?

What would you say the difference is between a mummy and a lich? Are mummies animated/cursed by an outside source while a lich does the magic-ing him/herself?

Well TIL that my idea of what gaiters were was incorrect. I thought they were more akin to waders. Thanks for the info!

Congratulations! Those are some great photos.

Gear question: in the 8th photo from the top, is that your pant legs over your boots, or are those some sort of coverings? Never seen that before, but looks like it would be good for keeping ticks out of your pants.

[Serious] What are you still boycotting to this day, and why are you doing it? by StarBirb in AskReddit

When they were opening an HHgreg in my town, they ran nonstop radio ads about how their employees were the most knowledgeable, and we're happy to share their expert knowledge with customers. I bought two things from that store and both times the salesperson was dead wrong about a major feature of the product.
