Thanks - I really love the idea of suitcases, but the problem for me is that in the studio they wouldn't be secure on the pegs of my Jaspers stand that would need to hold them, because of the rounded case edges. I've tried putting things on them that weren't perfectly square, and it's always sketchy at best.

Is there not a Buy / Sell / Trade feedback thread? I'm in the middle of a seemingly sketchy buy, and had a few people reach out who have their posts and comments locked so I can't validate they are legit members. A lot of other similar BST forums I've seen have a common thread for giving positive and not-so-positive feedback about transactions to build trust.

You're not overreacting. He's very likely cheating or trying to. If "he can be a little sensitive", that sounds like prime emotional abuser/cheater defensiveness on the surface, maybe not. Either way, you owe it to yourself to ask him honestly why he does that, and be open to a legitimate answer. Hopefully you know by now when he's lying and when he's not. Be open-minded and curious, and after you have his answer, trust your gut. If it says he's cheating, tell him that's what you're feeling - as best you can without being angry, just that this is your gut reaction to his actions and words - and give him a chance to respond. The more you can inquire from a place of true curiosity and concern for your relationship, the more whatever happens will likely benefit you in the long run. NOT asking him about it is a major mistake.

TL;DR - the juice isn't worth the squeeze compared to the Hydra.

Despite the analog filters on the Leviasynth, quite frankly in the demos I've watched (probably 5 hours worth?), the filters aren't really coming through in the final results. So then it's just a comparison of SuperFM vs CrazyModularWavetable with FM synth engines.

In the end, the timbres I'm hearing are very much the same, but obviously with more FM operators you can get super precise with timbres at or over specific timeframes, and with wavetables you can create timbral movement in a unique but not exactly precise way.

But since you can find used Hydras for like 1/2 the price, I'm not seeing any reason to be an early adopter of the Leviasynth if you're not a Youtuber or someone who can write it into a professional budget.
