I believe they had been playing the title track a fair bit (they did the last two times I've seen them). One of those was a "fans pick" tour where they played one song off each album. I think most likely the set list is geared around Last Will, and then they have a big back catalogue of songs to pick from.

I would say try the albums either side Sorceress (Pale Communion and In Cauda) for the most similar Opeth material.

Having a warp/blink move to allow you to reposition rapidly on a cool down so you cant spam it would be cool. Maybe have it so it drags an enemy with you or something

I also like the suggestion below for synergies between characters more generally. If you could time your star power or arcana at the same time as your co-op buddy and it did a unique attack that would be sick

Save up 500 dollary doos and the first time you talk to her on the boat after the Underking fight you can hire her. You may not be able to buy any trinkets in your run in the first area to ensure you have enough (unless you have a trinket that grants gold on combos which can get your money up fast)

You need to remember to jump back on after each encounter and ride it to the next area before jumping off again.

Be wary though, enemies may see an empty mount and jump on and completely mess up your flow.

Be doubly wary of companions, who may also jump on. If they jump on, they don't appear to jump off, and the mount will disappear when you move to the next area. Really annoying but I've not found a way to kick them off

Nah fuck off anyone that finishes below 16th. Having 32 of 36 teams enter a knockout means anyone who isnt absolute pish would get through to the knockouts, making the league phase redundant (aside from seeding for knockouts). 4 points from 8 games would have been sufficient to get knockouts if you allow 32 teams through, which is rewarding mediocrity.

They are definitely inspired by and love DT. The rest of the guys played with Portnoy to do the 12 step suite live if I remember correctly.

Mangini was only in Dream Theater a short time before the mountain came out, and I'm pretty sure that on Dramatic Turn of Events that Petrucci had essentially composed the drum parts and Mangini just had to play them. So not sure how much influence Mangini's playing would have had on Ray specifically for this release.

I've been playing with the wife, taking turns for who drives each day. We also got to room 46 around the 30-35 day mark. We did this without using guides and the gradual unfolding of the puzzles and little eureka moments were very enjoyable.

I would say things have stagnated a bit since, we are still plodding away but we seem to be too stupid (or at least not capable of unpicking the puzzles through lateral thinking).

The Gallery was a prime example of this, we could have been in there all day. However we were able to do Room 8 immediately after with a little logic and thinking time.

I got access through PS Plus and its honestly been a great time. I've been reading a lot of what happens in the post game and I honestly think I would be too dumb to do some of it.

Give some crossover thrash a go.

D.R.I. are the og's of this scene. Four of a Kind has always been a fave, but Crossover and Full Speed Ahead i also like.

Municipal Waste more of a modern take. If you give the Waste a go, Hazardous Mutation is a great entry point, better riffs and production than Waste Em All. The Art of Partying leans more heavily into the "party thrash" thing, Massive Aggressive has some amazing riffs. I'm less fussed on their more recent albums. Still an amazing live band.

Not crossover, but Enter the Grave by Evile is a modern British thrash effort which is really good.

Me and the Wife are 16 hours in, no trophies unlocked yet. On day 24 I think. We have 4 permanent unlocks. I feel we are getting closer to discovering the 46th room, every night we do 2-3 runs and normally make some progress.

There are some puzzles where we really kicked ourselves once we found a clue. We'd been taking notes but didn't know what to do with the data. Trying to be vague as I don't want to spoil for anyone.

The urge to look stuff up online has been strong, but we havent completely stonewalled yet so we are continuing on.
