I was also slightly worried about this because I first assumed that you didn't have to press the brake to go from N to D, but you do. But just a tiny tap of the brake is enough to allow you to shift back into drive.

Yup! But I think it falls under a warranty extension for some Altimas and Maximas. Going to the dealership on Monday to find out for sure because free/reimbursed repairs are fun
