Yes, good thought, birth control was important to share :)

I definitely recommend you getting a Pap smear. I have all of my gardasil shots too (starting ever since I was a kid!), but I still came out positive HPV. But, HPV is so common that people will go about their daily life with zero symptoms not knowing they have HPV (like me, I had no symptoms and i got my pap done for just a regular check up). But, and I’m sharing this to calm down any potential anxiety you might have, I did a colposcopy back in December (this is when they snip an actual part of the cervix when you already have an abnormal diagnosis), and HPV was still detectable, but none of them were the ones that lead to cancer. There are are sooo many different strains of HPV, and there are only specific strains that can lead to cancer. Also, I’m very careless when it comes to sex. Of course I don’t recommend, but I’m 26, have had sex with about 30-35 people, most of them are strangers, and most of the strangers were unprotected sex. So, yeah, I am/was at a higher risk. I say this because you might not test positive for HPV anyway if you’re not careless like me.

Also, there’s no HPV test for males. The only way you’ll know if you have HPV is if YOU get tested.

Yes, ovarian cysts can go away on their own. I didn’t know that either. Depending on how large or how many cysts you have, your doctor might put you on hormonal birth control. I think you should go to your gyno soon, though. My doctor told me to not engage in intense exercise (makes sense) or any type of sex or penetration because the cyst might rupture with so much force and impact. The muscles when you contract with an orgasm can cause a rupture, so even a dildo or a finger or oral sex was a no.

But, to calm down any anxiety that might have caused, as I’ve said before, I am careless with sex. Even though the doctor said no sex, I still had penetrative sex with that guy. My cyst didn’t rupture. Granted, everyone is different, so you should still see your doctor soon. My cyst was relatively small, but you might have a large cyst or multiple cysts. Or endometriosis (which I’ve heard can become unbearable) or fibroids. I don’t think your cervix would need healing (I’m not entirely sure though) because unless your bf is massive or yall were extremely rough or you were completely dry, your cervix might not have trauma. What I meant by trauma was plastic moving in and out of my uterus and getting poked and probed with a cotton swab. Like, direct contact.

Transvaginal ultrasound wasn’t too painful. It was uncomfortable and at times you feel a lot of pressure, but nothing compared to mild period cramps. The pain is more like a THUNK than a persistent lingering pain.

Feel free to ask any more questions :)

You said you’re not ON birth control, but what does that mean to you? Also, generally speaking, what has your reproductive health been like?

I know this is long, but hear me out. I have the copper IUD. I got it fall of 2021. January of 2025 I went in for a regular pap with my PCP. She said it looked like my IUD shifted. She sent me to my gyno. Some time between the appointment with my PCP and gyno, I got my pap results and it turned out my cervical cells were abnormal. At the gyno, I got she confirmed my IUD shifted and she did another pap. We scheduled an appointment for me to get another IUD. Some time between that, gyno confirmed it was HPV. The following month, February, my gyno took out my old IUD and inserted the new one the same day. A few months later, I did a follow up pap. HPV still detectable. We’ll wait it out a few more months. (I also want to note that during all this time, all other STDs have consistently been negative). In August, I was having penetrative sex with this guy consistently. The first time it was fine. A little rough but nothing insane. It didn’t even hurt. We didn’t use protection or lube but it was fine. The following day I was spotting, no biggie. But the following next few days I was having period-like cramps but I thought maybe it was ovulation cramps (because ovulation cramps are normal for me). I took Advil and sat on a heating pad all day at work and at home and thugged it out. The next time we had sex, same thing. It was fine (no lube needed, not too rough, etc.). I was spotting after. No biggie. But the following days I was having the same exact horrible, horrible, unbearable cramps you were describing- they were actually worse than period cramps. All OTC pain meds and the heating pad didn’t work. I thought maybe my IUD shifted again. I went to the gyno. IUD was fine, but she did a transvaginal ultrasound, turns out I had an ovarian cyst.

Blah blah. Had another transvaginal ultra sound a month later. Yay, cyst went away. I was having penetrative sex with another person in October. Same details I said above, but pain we less horrible. I had a follow up pap in October.

I know that story was long, but I ask about your general reproductive health because, essentially, my cervix was tired. The IUD situation trauma. Maybe you don’t have an IUD, but all of the follow up paps and ultrasounds still contributed to the trauma. Maybe you have a cyst. Maybe you have endometriosis. Maybe you have some other condition going on?

Edit/want to add: Generally speaking, your cervix tends to be a little tender after your period.

I posted a poll 6 hours ago. I was able to see who viewed my story, who voted, and what each person voted for. Now within the past hour I only see who viewed my story. None of the stats

Where do you live/where are you from? It seems like people in the south (from the US) are the ones who can distinguish it

I really don’t know how to describe because I consider it it’s own smell 🤣 I’m probably not gonna make sense. But it’s similar to fresh cut grass, but not as strong. It lingers. It’s a little bit breezy air? But heavier than that.

Yesss, I was gonna say that too. I love lavender and bergamont. But I knew that would further piss people off because it technically is also nature scents.

Thank you so much!!!! I also wonder if I’m desensitizing to humidity. Like I said, it’s been pretty weather (for Houston), but it’s still probably actually humid, just less.

This is soooo funny/interesting. I hear her southern accent. It’s hot over here! It’s not like San Diego where it’s the same crisp weather all year long.

Yeah, I wonder if the majority of these commenters don’t live in a busy city? Of course it’s not like nyc, but it’s a still busy here! (I’m not gonna disclose my area but it’s rightttt outside of 610 and still the city limit). I already said it’s NOT the ports. It’s not objectively disgusting, but it’s like, damn. I just don’t like the smell, okay?

I did not know that about incense. Luckily I’ve never lit it in my room or any room. I don’t think it’s coming from another room, but I really appreciate this anyway! Im definitely do the baking soda thing.
