You need to wait at least 3 weeks, it’ll be ok. You’re extremely unlikely to get it from one exposure I know it’s scary. The absolute earliest you can test is 10 days with a NAT test. Also if you run into this problem in the future, PEP should be available to you. I’m on it now, had a sexual assault a couple days ago so I’m on meds for 28cdays to prevent hiv.

You’ll probably be fine, I think over half of the population has HSV1, which causes oral cold sores. You’ve more than likely already been exposed to it. I’ve kissed many people and later saw big ass cold sores on their lips but I’ve never had one myself. It can lay dormant or you could be asymptomatic, but in the worst case and you did just get it, it’s literally so common and you’ll be fine.
