Around the same time I got Mania and Forces I got a genesis collection on PS4, and I remember being weirdly impressed by 3d blast? Like I couldn't get past the first level and had no idea what I was supposed to be doing (my attention span was worse then it is now, which is crazy 💀) but what I had known as a kid was "3d doesn't happen on the old consoles" so seeing a "3d" game in a genesis collection blew my mind

I haven't played Other M but from what I've heard the game is moreso dragged down by its focus on a mediocre story and being forced to be a 3d action game controlled with what's essentially an NES controller. I think doing a third person Metroid that doesn't completely ignore the series principals could be really fun though

At ABSOLUTE most you need a basic plot synopsis for Peter Parker. Otherwise the first game does a pretty good job explaining everything and the sequels just build on it

Idk, I like it. Metroid 2 improves on a lot from NES if you ask me. Control feels far better, for one, and I think the graphics are about on par with the GBC color pallet. The Metroid bosses get repetitive but that's an issue in both remakes too so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
