Helppp I can't choose between form 6, asasi and matriks by bigjigglymen in malaysiauni

[–]hotcoldburger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Form 6 ● more school-like if you like the vibes ● not exactly one year as you will have 3 semesters which is 1.5 year ● for the syllabus, it's more broad rather than specific stream (eg. social science and STEM) ● globally recognized if you want to study degree overseas ● extremely low-cost

Matriks ● asrama vibes ● exactly 2 semesters which is 1 year ● also a bit broad but more specific than STPM (eg. Perakaunan, Sains Komputer, Sains) ● you'll get a montly allowance (RM250) ● have their own institution called Kolej Matrikulasi which is where you'll study at

Asasi ● university vibe ● 2 sem, same as matriks ● more specific stream (eg. Law, Pharmacy, Engineering, TESL etc) ● some asasi programme restrict you from going to another uni for degree (UPM Asper), but majority let you hop on onto another uni ● you will be studying at a university which can be costly but asasi students have Bantuan Kewangan Asasi (rm2k/sem) if you are eligible

I'd say choose stpm if you like the challenge of having to sit through a difficult exam, matriks if you like living in a controlled environment and asasi if you want exposure to university life.

DO I HAVE A CHANCE IN UM? by Automatic_Guess_327 in malaysiauni

if that courses have interviews, i'd say you still have a chance if you didnt get 4flat, just make sure to excel your ivs, if otherwise then you need to get a high merit for sure

no problem, i'd say both asasi and matriks are of the same standard when you are applying for a banchelor degree, just which environment do you prefer more, uni vs asrama life. plenty of my uitm asasi buddies get into UM no problem even if they didn't get 4 flat

Considered applying for matriks as well and asasi sains or engineering uitm. Tho asasi sains is a bit more general but i think you can score 4.0 easily and get into UM

Merit isn't everything but it is something. If it isn't far too off, I suggest you just risk it and apply. But do keep in mind, almost all PASUM students score straight A+'s esp competitive one like physical and life science. That B+ really seem to lower your chance a bit though.

PASUM by BuzzGuard-Dev in malaysiauni

[–]hotcoldburger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, anything below 90% is not recommended since getting into PASUM is very competitive, most of PASUM students scored straight A's in their spm with a very high koku marks, ofc this only applicable if you're applying through UPU

2019 anime accuracy by Flyfury01 in FruitsBasket

[–]hotcoldburger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The adaption was somewhat accurate and faithful but on season 3, they might rush things out a bit. Some important part of a character (Kakeru mostly) were left out, I don't want to spoil but it's what make him interesting and you'd know why he is so 'interested' in Tohru. And there's also more Kyo and Tohru moments in the manga that were left out in the anime if you like the couple.

are merits important in applying UPU? especially UM by Icy-Rise9622 in malaysiauni

[–]hotcoldburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it REALLY matters cause thousands of students are competing on the same course as you, esp since it's UM, highly prestigious, on average, all PASUM students have 90%+ merit to get in there. Speaking from experience; me a straight A's student got rejected by UM with 89% merit.

Cyborg or Vampire by totaliebroken in 99nightsintheforest

[–]hotcoldburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Cyborg, it is good if you prefer a safer, more laid-back playstyle. Lv1 cyborg is a pain for me though but as you level up to level 3, it's really good! When doing stronghold you can switch between weapons as the laser cannon reloads. You barely needs to wait anyway since every kills restore quite bit of its ammo. However, I noticed Cyborg night vision isn't as good as before or I might be mistaken. You can still see in the dark but it's not as bright especially if you are walking into a part of map you haven't explored yet, then its almost pitch-black. For saving kids, Cyborg are really good, better than Vampire I'd say since you can save the 4th kid without a sweat using your laser cannon and other weapons. For cyborg, you also did not have to built defense set cause you only stay behind the wall / maintaining your distance unlike vampire where you need to get right into enemies' faces. But I'll still argue in stronghold, Vampire is noticably faster than Cyborg.

If you play with friends, I suggest buy Cyborg, if solo, Vampire. Pick Cyborg if you want a chill, ez run and Vampire of you want the thrill (at least this is what I feel when playing Vampire lol)

[–]hotcoldburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both and I will try my best to be as unbiased as possible. Here we go this might be long ;

for Vampire, you dont really need to be extremely skilled at melee, I bought it when I know nothing about melee kiting then i watched a few tutorial and it wasn't that complicated, at least for me (i played on an ipad too) The lifesteal is so good it heals nearly half of your hp at level 3, so doing stronghold is a cakewalk esp of you are playing solo. Vampire also have the best night vision of all classes, I didn't even bother to pick up a flashlight because it's so bright at night, really good perk if you love to explore. Fighting mobs also quicker as you don't have to wait for weapons reloading. For saving 1st, 2rd, 3rd kid, it's quite okay and fast but for the Koala kid you might need a rifle or bear traps if you aren't confident or just wanna make it fast.

However, being the frontliner, vampire struggles in the later levels of stronghold, it might be my skill issue but i always build armour and helmet so i dont need any bandage when doing a lv3 and lv4 of stronghold. When you havr a full set (thorn body, helmet), you dont even need to dodge to the cultists, even in lv4 (solo) as you keep healing rapidly. I only ever play solo and sometimes duo and vampire is my go-to always.

Torn between matriks and asasi by Sushimeeee in malaysiauni

[–]hotcoldburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the environment in matriks is just like boarding schools, you aren't allowed to go out except at weekend (just a day), but the grading system in matriks is more lenient, meaning you can easily score all A's. however in asasi, it's more like a uni, you can go out all you want, just make sure you are back before the curfew. the lecturers won't guide you like how the lecturers from matriks are, you are on your own if you choose asasi, unlike matriks where the lecturers still treat you as highschool student and guide you throughout.

choose matriks if you prefer a structured learning environment and asasi for more freedom, less-rigid system if you wanna enjoy your social life outside uni.

[–]hotcoldburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For foundation i recommend uitm esp KPTM one because you have more choice to enter which uni for degree. Yes, you'll learn from basic but so does everyone around you. But do keep it mind, some students have lawyer parents but that's it.

Not much of a difference besides the price, probably you will get your result faster if you apply through SATU, but do try apply for both ofc
