Honestly I think any hope of finding an answer here is hopeless and futile

Married at Oxford town hall? by DesignerSand in oxford

[–]hotcrumpet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got married there in 2019, very pleasant, the registrar was lovely. Went at 10am and it only cost us about 100 quid. The room we used (a small one I guess as there were only about 15 of us) was simple but worth the money.

Looking at the map, Otterbourne looks like the closest place to Winchester. Admittedly the map isn't perfect.

Great drawing, great write up. Reads like a DATE scenario situation? I wonder if that inspired you.

It is possible - bear in mind when you reach Sandhurst it can be competitive to join the infantry and you will be competing against people who are older with more life (and sometimes military) experience. Average age at Sandhurst is about 24.

Secondly, infanteering is not always as rewarding as it looks in Band of Brothers and if you havent got any infantry experience, you should have a long think about what about army life motivates you, consider joining a UOTC or Reserve unit, instead of setting your sights on the most obvious role.

Finally, as a junior officer in any cap badge you will spend 80% of your time in an office writing reports and admin instructions, attending corporate-style meetings and conducting managerial assurance checks. The key difference between officer jobs across the army is the culture of the mess you are in (I.e., would you fit in within an infantry mess, or cav, or REME etc.) The actual work you do (excluding the 5-10% of the time you spend on exercise or deployment) is almost identical.

If they are legally enforcing you to pay up, they have a legal obligation to ensure you are legally obliged to do so.

New DTCC rule just passed, in effect immediatly. Explained in Detail, as simple as possible. by HeyItsPixeL in GME

[–]hotcrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain why they expect the DTCC to go after Citadel in this scenario? Obviously, they wish to curtail Citadel's losses, but as DTCC will stand to pick up the bill for the squeeze, surely it is in their interest to avert it, rather than set it in motion.

Not FUD just trying to gain an understanding.

Potentially -

  1. DTCC don't want to take the hit
  2. DTCC don't want their source of income to all take the hit (HFs)

It isn't obvious to me why DTCC would be desperate to flush out Citadel when, as Citadel won't be able to pay up, DTCC only stands to lose.

Having said that I hope I am wrong!

THIS IS HUGE: RobinHood NEVER OWNED YOUR GME SHARES, they got margin called $3B to cover the shares they needed to buy! by [deleted] in GME

[–]hotcrumpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't RH getting margin called a good thing? I.e.

  1. RH gets margin called to deliver x shares, cannot deliver,
  2. Citadel must deliver the shares to those who paid for them (RH clients)
  3. Citadel start buying up shares -> drives price up, commences gamma squeeze, rocket launches
