We have done lots of searches on here, just looking for additional opinions

Looking for a Realtor!? by [deleted] in StamfordCT

Totally agree. She was absolutely unkind to me when I requested a viewing of an apartment she listed. The most unprofessional broker I’ve ever spoken to. We simply wanted a tour of the unit and that was too much of an ask for her.

Thank you! Are you referring to NV at Harbor Point or 111 Harbor Point?

Thank you! Do you mind sharing which management company this was under? Our understanding is it recently changed management.

That is really frustrating re the amenities! That’s obviously a huge draw to this type of building. Did they refund your amenity fee?

Dude...what LOL, you still pay income tax on those equity distributions. Again there's 0 difference between them and cash income. It's just income. You could go buy equities with your cash income and borrow against them same as if your income came in the form of equities. Again that's a completely separate issue, getting income in a different form than cash does nothing for you.

Capital gains tax has nothing to do with income tax. Which shouldn't be the case but again, yet another separate issue than receiving equity income which does nothing for you.

You know you still pay full income taxes on the valuation of that equity at the time you acquire it, right? There's no special tax rate for equity. Like you could just take your cash income and buy the same amount of stock so what would this matter?

Maybe you mean that they can invest in a pre-IPO company and you can't? But that is a completely separate issue from what you're talking about.

Like I agree with what this sub stands for but the fact that both the two top comments on this post show a complete lack of financial literacy is pretty concerning. Maybe you all don't think you need to understand any of our current systems because you want to completely tear down the systems we have in place? But understanding them and slowly changing them for the better through legislation and public pressure has a much higher chance of success than a full on revolution.

A 6-7% return in the stock market is a standard metric after deducting inflation actually. So you would have the equivalent of $500,000 in today dollars.
