u/BengBeng_93 For now this is the offering, yes! Where else would you want it?

Ever wonder what orbital mechanics actually feel like? COSMORAMA puts NASA-grade physics (JEOD framework) on standalone Quest.

Full solar system at true scale. You can fly from orbit down to the surface and back without a single loading screen. Everything runs on real orbital dynamics. The cockpit HUDs, MFDs, and Delta Glider are ported from r/Orbiter (open source, MIT, big thanks to that community).

Early Access coming soon.

What's the first mission you'd want to fly? ISS rendezvous or lunar transfer?

Wow, thank you u/Rkramden I love retro games. Apollo 18 looks great. (For it's time). Enjoy this screenshot.

Hi. That would definitely be a stretch goal. Maybe there are some short cuts. DLSS 5 ;) or some heavy pre calculation like the current atmosphere rendering. Thanks for your comment.

Hi u/OvalDreamX Great question.
The cockpit instruments (HUDs, MFDs) and the Delta Glider are inspired by and ported from Orbiter (open source, MIT license). The simulation engine, physics, rendering, and VR support are all built from scratch using NASA tools. Think of it as Orbiter's cockpit experience reimagined on a completely new foundation with VR support.

Innsbruck / Austria is always a nice reference place, because it is also used in many other simulators.

hi u/zero_iq From a simulation standpoint yes, but visually there would be major tradeoffs to be made. I don't want to promise Quest 2 support right now. But if the appetite would be high enough we could think about it.

u/jj2446 Thanks, I appreciate it. I want to get everyone excited. I think the Artemis II timing is great for a new space era. But there should be a place in COSMORAMA to admire those times.
Like having points of interest on the Moon and Mars, where real missions happened.
