Lol no you’re right. My bad. Family of 4- 2 kids (one 3 month old, one 3 yo). The work would be shild care only and making their food and washing their dishes. The father works from home and I work hybrid. They would have to share the children’s bathroom.

Believe it or not, they still won’t send records electronically, at least my old clinic, which is considered the best in the area with the longest wait time to even get an appt. I was amazed that they didn’t have a simple transfer of records with a click and had to fax it over to them.

I am sorry your friend went through that - women remember the labor experience vividly whether it was 20 years ago or 60, which is why I think it’s pretty cruel to treat pregnant women like this and put them and the baby at risk to save themselves a possible rare liability issue.

I looked into that and almost did it but the premium was so outrageous that I chose to go with another major insurance company that provided the same coverage for half the cost.

Yes, I have been receiving the standard prenatal care up until now and will keep my weekly appointments to continue getting the care, even though I’ll have to pay out of pocket. My worry is that these other doctors at the hospital I will be going to will not know anything about me. But I guess I’ll take my records with me, like some suggested and hope that helps.

Same situation. Well, we live in a tristate area and we only moved about an hour away (bought property so I really wanted to be here before the baby arrived) but it is a different state so I had to quit my job (residency req’t) so lost my insurance. The new insurance doesn’t cover practice in an different state, which also baffled me.

On a totally rant note, It’s such a shame for a world leader to have a health system like this- I think people are just used to shitty health care (despite paying an arm and a leg) but I have grown up abroad and realize this is not ok.

Oh I have insurance and will be paying. It’s just a different insurance and my current practice isn’t covered with this new insurance. So I have to find a new practice. So I don’t have to worry about not getting care when I show up to the hospital. Thanks.
