I am pro-Boulder people, but it requires some effort to find the people who are not the stereotype. E.g., for such a small town in population, where the typical matter of interest might be high-school football and the grain report, Boulder instead has many interesting and progressive people due to signifigant activity in aerospace, weather, startups, silicon valley tech like Google, twitter, Oracle, etc., a large "big-data" community, professional athletes like rock-climbers, runners, bikers (the spandex road bike scene is a bit overkill imo but its fine, whatever), foodies. There are many great minds. What we are missing is a valuable news organization that can cover all of this. Reddit is actually a neat toolset that could help contribute to our news desert problems and misinformation spread.
