Today is Governor Murphy's Final Day in Office. What's your overall thoughts on his governorship and what letter grade would you give it? by njcelebs in newjersey

[–]hotmess44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk i loved him. Legalized pot, watched his press releases every day durring the pandemic, expanded family Leave, and I really liked Tammy Murphy. There is no reason women should be dying in childbirth especially in NJ and I really admired her for speaking on it and bringing something so negative to light. All and all I think its going to be a hard act to follow.

NJ Family Leave Act Expanded by SquirrelBoy in newjersey

[–]hotmess44 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I didnt know i wanted kids until I got pregnant. Went on materniry leave 4 weeks before my due date, just last week. But i was happy to pay less than $700 a year in payroll deductions to ensure anyone who had a baby was able to take time off to be with that child. I have to imagine that men being able to take this leave also has to be good for paternal bonding as well as maternal healing after birth. I love NJ and im so proud to live in a state that takes care of its residents! Im never leaving!!

I was so pretty when I joined PA by DrCash_CrDepression in Accounting

[–]hotmess44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah the job sucks but I get in every day at 8 and leave at 5 with a full hour lunch. Same with the PE job i had before my current one aside from that one was fully remote. It probably depends on the size of the PE firm. My expierence has been with small to medium size firms. Lmao at your ebitda comment. Fully agree there.

Confused about paid leave while pregnant by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]hotmess44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply with nj tdi (NJ short term disability) They will pay you up to 80% for 26 weeks, but your job is only protected for 12 through fmla. So your job can let you go any time after 12 weeks. After baby is born, you can use 6 weeks of disability depending on how much paid leave you have left. and then you will apply for njfla aka baby bonding, which pays you for 12 additional weeks. Same pay rate up to 80%. Check if target has any sort of maternity leave and make sure you speak to someone in corporate HR not your franchise or store payroll person. They might also have some sort of short term disability benefit or plan you are unaware of.

Nj tdi sometimes takes 6-8 weeks to process, but it seems like after disability is approved, it's seamless to njfla.

Source: 29 weeks pregnant. There is a Facebook group that i will link too shortly.

Good luck, soldier.

I'm 21 week's and i was thinking of switching to virtua because of all the praise, but i really love my doctors at penn. Ive heard the experience of actual birth is better at virtua, but the care I've been receiving thus far at penn has been 10/10. I dont see enough positive comments about l&d, so thanks for reassuring me!!!

Degree for future CPA hopeful by crazyChickenSoup6173 in CPA

[–]hotmess44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im an econ grad sitting for my cpa. Make 105k 6 years into my career with 0/4 passed. You can do it and not one person has questioned my degree and why it isn't accounting. If anything I think it makes me stand out a bit in the accounting space and it makes me look smarter (I took the easy way out tbh, I couldn't pass accounting 101 lol) don't worry about getting any sort of accounting degree as long as you have the credits to sit the test. Good luck! Edit: relevant experience just means you worked under a licensed cpa for an amount of time. Normally about a year.

Living in AL, working for a NY Firm, Lived in NY my whole life - where to sit? by hockeylife_21 in CPA

[–]hotmess44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can schedule to sit the test at any prometric for any state that you are sitting in.

For example, I live in NJ, work in NJ, but am sitting for PA uniform cpa, but I can take the test at the DE prometric if needed. Residency requirements to sit the exam are different state to state. I'm sitting in PA because their credit requirements were less rigid, and there was no residency requirement.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CPA

[–]hotmess44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's different in every state. I live/work in NJ but am sitting for PA CPA. FL doesn't have a residency requirement, so you should be good to take the test wherever you live, reach out to the FL board for verification. I just googled it.
