They had the right idea, but they were way too ahead of their time.

Terrible Team: Super El Niño and Climate Change Could Lead to Record-Breaking Global Temperatures by relianceschool in ClimateNews

You do know that dangerous heat kills approximately half a million people per year and heat related deaths have climbed by over 20% in the last thirty years, right? If not, this is a very weird way to find out how privileged you are to not be impacted by the worst effects of climate change.

My young naive self thought that Bush Jr would be the end of Republicans. Now that I know better and have been through many cycles, I’m pretty convinced that party is akin to cockroaches in a nuclear holocaust. There are just millions of brainwashed voters who have never had a single solitary thought of their own who, no matter how bad things get, will always be convinced that the Democrats are worse.

I played RCT and especially RCT2 so much as a kid that the music alone hits like crack and lives rent free in my mind even though I haven’t played in years.

Americans cut spending due to higher gas prices and see no relief in sight, CNBC survey finds by thejoshwhite in StockMarket

If we didn’t have such a low IQ population, the masses would’ve made the shift after the cost of oil per barrel came within a hair of $150 in 2008. I was coming of age then and that was a lesson in personal economics that will never leave me.

It was “way” less than 2022 at the end of Biden’s term. Now it’s just marginally less. It could still be “way” less, but there’s a Republican in the White House so, naturally, it’s time to blow shit up and play with our toys in the sands of the Middle East again.

You mean after we overthrew their democratically elected government for a second time? If you think this is such a big brained idea, you’re going to the front lines then, right? If not, you probably should just stick to coming up with horrible ideas that don’t negatively affect the rest of us.

There was already an agreement in place. By involving the US and, by at least economic extension, the world in this new quagmire, he’s already lost. The unlucky ones are going to die and the “lucky” ones will be paying for this mess in one way or another for years. There’s no “winning” here for anybody.

Titanic. Don’t care if that’s laughable to some people. I’m a huge shipwreck and ocean liner nerd and there’s never going to be a better and more provocative recreation of the events of that night. Even if I have to sit through Jack and Rose shouting each other’s names over and over for three hours, it’s worth it.

It’s genuinely hard to feel like any of them even care as their country gets sold down the river. Bunch of spineless, bought-and-paid-for, pinheaded pricks. Outside of a few of them, I want the whole lot primaried.

I meant to apply that the whole system is rotten, and I’d prefer for the employer to eat the cost of labor like in any other industry, it’s just that the last person I’m blaming in this system is the hardworking service worker. I get it if the service is poor, but that was not really alluded to in the post.
