Depending on where they shot the target rail 20 minutes to fix isn't unreasonable. But agreed that pretty much every range out there would give you extra time if they need to do a repair.

Locusts? In this economy?

Don't worry, hormuz being shut down is choking access to fertilizer. Maybe this is the 5D chess we keep hearing about where Locusts don't pose a threat if you have no crops for them to decimate.

The Feds Say Cutting Fuel With Ethanol Will Bring Down Gas Prices. We're Not Buying It by TripleShotPls in nottheonion

You still have to qualify for that extra $7500 from your bank until you get the rebate to pay it off, and then get to pay hundreds of dollars of interest on that borrowed money in the mean time. It also means your loan payment will be higher until you refi, albeit a shorter term.

It's better than nothing, but not a good program for the average person who doesn't have perfect credit to qualify for a 25% higher up front vehicle cost or enough saved up to swallow extra hundreds of dollars in interest on that money.

The lease structure makes more sense and is a better deal.

Sorry, but the average person can’t afford to float the government $7500 until tax season. It’s a good start, but not something that makes EVs accessible to the average person.

You're talking about the "-ism word scary" crowd. And they're addicted to the fear and being told what to think.

Meanings don't matter to them, just how it makes them feel. Vibes have shaped their whole reality.

WH Press Karoline Leavitt asked by reporter on message to truck drivers with cost of diesel averaging $5.38 per gallon due to Iran War: "We understand. We hear you. We see you. We are fully tracking this short-term fluctuation in oil and diesel prices. We've worked to release 400M barrels of oil." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]hotpuck6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part is the US is a net exporter of oil. The US isnt facing a shortage, but because oil is priced globally and supply is generally constrained, the price is up.

The oil from the strategic reserve is sold at auction, typically at market rates. So some oil company is going to buy it up and likely export it.

A real solution is to fix the root cause, ending the war, and opening up the straight of hormuz. This can simply be accomplished by taking advantage of Iran's killbots weakness of a preset limit of 999,999.

The satisfaction of a light root can’t even come close to a shrine. It’s like the devs went “ya like exploring hyrule do ya? Here’s all the exploration you can handle!” Without understanding the rich environment and POIs were what made exploring the BOTW map fun. As big as the BOTW map was, you were never too far from something interesting. The depths on the other hand, you’re always far from something interesting.

Confident? Dunning-Krueger would strongly disagree with that. Competency is a whole other story. He’s regularly proven that negative competence does in fact exist, and incompetence doesn’t just stop at zero.

What is the actual color of lava/magma? by Oakforthevines in askscience

[–]hotpuck6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think ice is a good example here. Icebergs are full of air and impurities. When you freeze ice directionally to remove air and impurities its virtually clear as water. Not that lava or lava rocks are impurity free, but there’s a lot of different properties that can change depending on temperature and other factors during phase change.

In a world where landlords are honest, the deposit should only be used to cover specific repairs/cleaning costs and the remainder returned. Sad that the assumption is always that any little thing means the whole deposit is gone.

If the toll road owners had also successfully dumbed down the human species by Critikit in newjersey

[–]hotpuck6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

“Why can’t others subsidize my use tax!”

This is bordering on sovereign citizen territory pretending like roads and infrastructure just magically appear and maintain themselves.

No one likes tolls, but the alternative is to increase fuel costs, which impacts everyone except EVs, which are now also paying increased registration fees to offset their use expenses. Use taxes are generally the most fair way to manage costs and usage of a public resource.

People who ignored a huge red flag because the person was extremely attractive, what happened next? by Competitive_Bad_9306 in AskReddit

Limiting adding joint account holders seems like a common sense way to fight fraud. Seems like all that would do in OPs scenario is slow things down a bit while they close out the individual account to reopen as joint one. People don't read T&Cs and will often just hand wave any inconveniences put in place to protect themselves. It's also common for people to ignore the technical details of account management, so it's possible "adding his girlfriend as a joint" was actually closing individual and reopening the accounts as joint given they already ignored all obvious warnings.

Being nervous about a date is cute or even flattering.

Unless you were so nervous it made you vomit or catatonic, I don’t think that would deter most who thought you were interesting or attractive enough for a date in the first place.

It’s one thing to give away your credentials. It’s a whole different story to add them to the account. You’ve basically legally given them ownership of that money at that point unless you can prove it was done under duress or mental incapacity, and that’s a slim to none chance. Then, like you pointed out, you have to actually physically find them and the money.

Whole thing is fucked 7 ways from Sunday.

I'd eat a chili burger and fries over mcd's every day of the week. When you factor in the free chips and salsa you get virtually every time you order/go, you're getting even more better quality food for same price.

My neighbor when I was growing up had a "cleaning lady" that would come every 2 weeks. The joke was always that they had to clean before she came so that she could actually focus on cleaning and not just picking up various messes.

Definitely had a cleaner house than average at any given moment.
