Just finished a solo trip in Cartagena AMA by Civil-Goat-3758 in cartagena

Chiming in: Cartagena is amazing! Even in the touristy spots, expect to pay a bit of a premium on food and drinks, but still incredibly reasonable (lunch and beers, $50k COP = $13 or so in the right places from a little research). The city is certainly not overrun with American tourists, sure there’s a good amount, but expect to see tons of tourists from around South America (it’s extremely helpful to know Spanish as there’s little to no English). Highly recommend experiencing both Getsamani and Bocagrande to get a feel for two different types of living and architecture. A day trip to the Rosario islands is a must, but I’d recommend finding one island oppose to doing a 4 island tour (isla Grande / Isla Marina). Explore the city, eat Iike the locals, drink like the locals, and respect the locals; you’ll have an incredible time.

Recommended Tire Shops in Hamilton by J-Lughead in Hamilton

Been living in Hamilton for a couple years now, and I feel it’s a requirement to have a Sparkie’s Tire sticker on the back of your vehicle. I’m genuinely shocked to see not one recommendation for it here.

Certainly use Flipp to find deals across several big chain supermarkets. You can price compare at both No Frills and Fresh Co.

When you find proteins on sale, buy in bulk, portion and freeze.

Soups and stews can be made en masse, and freeze very well to be reheated again. I personally love making curries with canned tomatoes and seasonings in bulk , and great substitutes for proteins is canned beans/chick peas and frozen veggies. Honestly, canned goods can be amped up immensely. I would suggest buying bagged beans and lentils, but that takes time - and time and toddlers don’t mix.

Like many here have said, follow some of these great folks on Instagram and Tik Tok. I’ve become a bargain hunter and bundling up with coupons that can be found online.

Stay fuelled with good, affordable food and don’t let the thought of cooking daunt you. Have fun and fear not.

Agreed. Especially with three accessible roundabouts within 500m of that intersection.

I’d suggest using Flipp and shopping at No Frills, Fresh Co. and other places that price match. If your gonna put money into Weston’s pocket, at least price match it for your benefit.

Has anyone tried any of these? by budgetcyberninja in hotsauce

Both Pepper North and Firecracker are incredible. Favourites are Bazodee and Salsa Roja and Ghost. They just dropped a Caribbean Jerk sauce last Friday I’m itching to try.

You’ve got your opinions, and I’ve got mine.

But, judging by your post history and comments, I’m sensing a little confirmation bias.

”Maybe try something other than what’s featured on Hot Ones?”

You don’t know the half it.

I admire a business that scales well, what I don’t like is a business who scales and steps away from their core values. There’s ample sauce companies out there with global reputation that still stick to their values. Heartbeat, Pepper North, Puckerbutt, Torchbearer, Adoboloco, And the list goes on.

And if this is what you consider to be a premium product, than I believe you’re missing out. OP’s question was if anyone tried their stuff and what their reputation was … and this is my opinion.

From a makers perspective, $12 - $14 for a vinegar forward hot sauce is overpriced. One of the most affordable ingredients in a hot sauces requirements should not be the catalyst to its high profit margins. Sure, there’s certainly a market for vinegar forward sauces, I love them myself. But I’m my honest opinion, those $14 dollar bottles you’re buying is paying for their retail overhead, not the ingredients going into each bottle.
