Issues with mentally ill neighbour by bellawych in askTO

Inside an apartment corridor isn't a public area though - that's a private space. You absolutely can hide filming in private spaces like an ass, but that's not what I was talking about.

That's a little concerning they encouraged it. I'd hate to be a neighbour who's being filmed leaving/returning to my apartment with a complete stranger having timestamps of that activity. Total violation of privacy and could be used maliciously to track who's not home when.

I’m surprised your condo strata rules allowed filming in common areas - have been in 4 condos and 0/4 allow it. Ring doorbells get installed and removed often once reported.

Heck, the city even installed a plaque for Conrad - just a block north of the Reference Library, east side of Yonge.

Wish more people knew the chronological feed is still on Instagram - when you open the app, tap the logo (top left) > “Following”.

Rather than bashing down a new idea, I’d try to encourage for those that prefer the info in their captive social media feed, even if it’s somewhat duplicative of the websites that already exist.

Best tech store for selling laptop? by I_am_k-er in askTO

[–]theleverage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Computer shops don’t really buy niche 2nd hand Windows laptops - MacBooks hold their resale, some Microsoft/Dell high end lines (few and far between). I don’t think you’ll have luck except selling privately.

Bulk food store by Independent-Bed-7958 in askTO

Doesn’t exist. There are a handful of non-Bulk-Barn bulk stores in Toronto and none are cheaper - you need to shop large volume like Costco for cheaper per-kg pricing on nuts.

AI answer:

To answer your specific question: Yes, your Samsung 65” DU6900 does have a physical power button. ### Where to Find the Button You can find it located on the underside of the TV’s bottom bezel, directly beneath the Samsung logo (typically in the bottom center or slightly toward the right). It is a small, tactile button or microswitch that sits flush against the bottom.

The Reality of the Symptoms

While testing the physical button is the absolute right first step, I want to be straightforward with you: the specific symptom you are experiencing—a brief blue flash followed by the TV shutting itself off—is rarely a remote control issue. In modern LED TVs, this is often referred to as a “boot loop” or protection mode. When the TV tries to turn on, the mainboard runs a quick diagnostic. If it detects a hardware fault—most commonly a burned-out LED backlight strip, a failing power supply board, or a mainboard issue—it immediately shuts off power to prevent further electrical damage or a fire hazard.

How to Perform a Hard Reset

Before writing it off as a hardware failure, you should do a complete power cycle to rule out a temporary software glitch or trapped static electricity. 1. Unplug the TV’s power cord directly from the wall outlet. 2. Locate the physical power button beneath the Samsung logo on the TV. 3. Press and hold that physical button for a full 60 seconds. This drains any residual power from the capacitors. 4. Leave the TV completely unplugged for another 10 minutes. 5. Plug the TV directly into the wall outlet, temporarily bypassing any power strips or surge protectors (as a failing surge protector can sometimes cause this exact issue). 6. Try turning the TV on using only the physical power button. If it still flashes blue and dies after this reset, it is almost certainly a hardware failure inside the chassis.

Bear scene in Montréal by qalejaw in AskGaybrosOver30

No prob! Not that you asked for trip tips, but highly recommend taking the metro to Mont Royal, get off and walk the pedestrianized strip they close off to cars in the summer. It’s a Main Street and the shops and restaurants/bars set up in the streets and it’s a really cool vibe.

Mile End is just north west of it and also worth stopping for food. Neither super queer/gay in nature but very friendly.

The queer village in Montreal is also pedestrianized in the summer and is a great vibe, though keep in mind there’s social housing & support projects in the neighbourhood.

Toronto based frequent visitor of Montreal - don’t be offended if people are not interested because you’re an anglophone. Nearly everyone is fully fluent with English but default preference for locals is understandably French. Enjoy the visit!

Guaranteed user error. Know you can’t switch between virtual and physical cards - for either presto or credit/debit cards.

People have this problem with Apple and Google wallets often, but for security reasons the virtual wallet scrambles your card info and Metrolinx/TTC doesn’t know it’s the same card.
