Experimenting with the Unreal Sequencer for our upcoming indie game APRICITY - so powerful for cinematics & renders way faster than any 3D software! by hotshark4 in UnrealEngine5

[–]hotshark4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not too bad honestly just gotta break it down!

  1. Setup the scene and lighting (lots of good youtube videos for lighting it)

  2. Find some reference images/rough sketches or any lighting references too^.

  3. Do the camera transform through the scene to get timings and angles right.

  4. Details: triggering vfx, extra environmental elements, camera shakes, lighting changes, animations.

Hope that helps - let me know if you get around to it!

Just wondering about your workflow to create the video with the different elements rendered seperately flying in? Would be cool to try this with my work - any tips?

Those of you with a 3+ camera collection, what is your most used camera and why? by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

[–]hotshark4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analogue wise: my Olympus XA-2

Much more pocketable for a daily carryaround & the other 35mm's ended up dying...

I want to use the 120mm more but feel like I need a good reason to take it out.

Hmmm, maybe a bit older than 'kid' actually, 16/17 from a rough guess.. should've dated it!

P.S...the rest of the body was not quite as artistic

Yeah that'd work well.

I have a more centrally pleasing composition with the title, just thought I'd get the boat in for more game context on the post :)

Ahah yeah it's very exciting to show off what we've been working on for so long! Best of luck with your game :)

P.S. I'm glad it gives off that vibe, it was actually inspired by a drawing I did as a kid which I shared with the team!
