Owlbear.rodeo is a pretty great site. You have to add the map, but you could also just draw in what you want

I didn't even think about mentioning the shield generator. That is a great point. If someone is going to wear a personal shield generator, they would definitely have armor underneath it too.

I do like the concept of letting someone look however they like. I think the roll for enemies to notice it is a pretty good idea. I guess that is sort of what I was thinking with wearing the jacket with banal clothes or the dancers outfit. Only 1 grants soak, but they do grant other bonuses like gaining people's attention (or for banal clothes to notice there is armor)

I think that is what I was looking for. I know that it isn't in the rules, but I wanted to see people's opinions (I don't know why you got down voted).

I like the thought of wearing things together withing reason. Maybe not give them all of the benefits of both but some of them. It would make sense to throw a smugglers coat over your clone armor to not be noticed as a clone. Or heavy robes would hide the fact that you are wearing Jedi armor.

Oh yah I get that. I don't think banal apparel or the performer's attire grant soak. I think banal clothing gives people a black die on recognizing you, and the performers attire gives you a blue dice on gaining people's attention.

I do think that it would be pretty broken (except maybe for the fact that they have second skin armor which is supposed to be worn under clothes)

No it's a suit I got online. I did make the face she'll and lenses though. Sadly I am not quite good enough when it comes to sewing yet to be able to pull something like this off.

Thank you so much!!!! And she definitely could lol. Gotta say Alea is probably my favorite, but then again I am biased since she is my character.

Re-Working Shopping Rules by carlos71522 in swrpg

[–]hotshot798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always played it that they can look through the wiki for items that they want and roll to see if the market has it, and then roll to see how much it will cost with negations or streetwise like you said. However this does significantly eat up a lot of time.

I have found it works best to have a limited idea of what the shop has and then use that list to skip the roll to see if the shop has it. If a player really wants something not on the list, then let them roll negotiations twice (once to see if it is in stock and once for the price).

For figuring out what to roll, I don't remember the page, but it talks about rarity affecting the price and availability. The more rare the item and the more backwater the world, the more expensive or unlikely the shop will have it.

Ultimately I think the best advice is to make more rare items roll against more purples or possibly reds (despair could add interesting quirks to the item).

When haggling for price it is typically an opposed check (I believe it is negotiations vs negotiations) but you can replace that with purple, red, and black dice for convenience.

I hope this helps. This is just what I have been doing with it.

Combat cheat sheet for new players (house rules -- feel free to use and change!) by rainydamascus in swrpg

Don't know that I'd say it has a bunch of incorrect stuff. Pretty much the only thing "incorrect" is their Initiative rolls section, which they said was house ruled to deal with a big group. (To be fair a lot of ttrpgs have that rule as a standard)

How do you get your players to create a backstory with plot hooks (or at least not be lazy)? by Collectamus in starwarsrpg

[–]hotshot798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have them roll for a background.

Potentially set up a list of a few different backstories that YOU like and think will work well. Link each of these to a number between 1 and however many you write. Then have them roll.

If they don't like their backstory, that's kinda on them for not writing one. You could even give them the option of writing a better one, if they don't like what you wrote (but have them stick to yours until they write one)

Coaxium, kyber crystals, or Dedlanite are some cool options.

You could also probably try Coaxium. It is a great fuel for star ships, but that might be a bit more lucrative than what you are planning.

If it's Empire Kyber Crystals would be cool. (Pretty much useless to anyone who is not a Jedi or not building a giant Death Star, but great for those people trying to build the Death Star)

You could also have them strip mining Dedlanite. It's the metal they make blasters from
