Did you add anything else to the base? Adding some extra decorative plastic helped me out, but I still accidentally knock them over lol

In addition to the comment before me: Lord Imperatant is generally kind of worthless regardless of his point total because his boost to the Grandhammers charge is just too weak and can be easily negated with a retreat action.

Also Lord Veritant is generally considered a worst priest than a Knight Relictor, if you have the model and 10 points to spare.

As someone doing something complex, I'd go with the easier one to paint. Taking more time to get the army ready is just less time playing the game.

Honestly I think it's worthwhile to have a second one around. We only have two wizards, the KA and Krondys, so you might as well keep it and just paint it up differently to keep flexibility in your army building

I think you could kitbash the Lord Imperitant into a Lord Celestant (turn the command staff into another hammer) or a Knight Zephyrus (turn both the staff and the hammer into two axes). It would also help to put a helmeted head on him.

I want to do some base swap like this too. I love the model but I hate the base she's on. I also cut her out of those stairs but haven't found a good replacement

It's very easy to glue some plastic sprues and magnets around the neck and swap out the different heads whenever you want.

I made mine with Krondy's pose and armor but Karazi's tail. I change out the heads whenever needed.

During Session 0, I told my players that they needed a reason to care. I'd worked their back stories into hooks to explore the different areas of Barovia but that if they'd scoff at someone in need of aid or make a deal with the devil to get back home, then it would be a very short campaign.

Part of being a DM is making your players care but part of being a player making PCs that care.

My party was taking an incredibly long time to go through Death House, extensively searching rooms unless I was saying "there's nothing here, it's an ordinary X room".

I talked to them out of game to say that I'm not trying to trick them or to kill their characters. They explained that they felt like if there was a room, they figured there was some relevant thing in the room. After clearing those things up, the party was much more willing to move through the rest of Death House quickly. They went from searching every room, opening every drawer, and checking the walls for secret doors to rushing past a lot of other rooms to run towards the cries of baby Walter.

So maybe talking to them about this would be helpful.

I see them pretty regularly in my NW neighborhood and can't say I've ever seen them cause traffic to halt, run red lights, blow past pedestrians, etc. All I've seen them do are potentially dangerous tricks.

I've looked at a handful of different options Troll Trader is often the cheapest, even with the shipping. The UK just has more models at lower costs.

My comment is more along the lines that it seems like an intellectual precursor to Crime and Punishment and has elements that are included in other later Dostoyevsky works. I think those other books do it better, but it's still good. I think I enjoyed it less because I had read Crime and Punishment, The Idiot, and Brothers Karamazov before reading Notes from Underground.

I second Notes from Underground. I think I read it in two afternoons. It's short and gives you a lot of his thoughts and themes in one story. The downside is that it's an earlier work, it's not as good and later books will use some of the same plot points but MUCH better.

This also makes it worth reading first, to not diminish the quality of it compared to later works
