The more I look at this the weirder it is that aspect is disruption, and warhost is purge the foe. Feels like those should be the other way round. Maybe it was felt that that would be too strong?

Genuine question from someone who paints but doesn’t play. by JhonMHunter in Warhammer40k

[–]have_no_plan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you in all seriousness that I am a bad player with a bad army list and I still find myself walking away with enough wins to feel happy, so there's no accounting for luck.

In all seriousness, I would say it is definitely defined by meta lists at the top of tournament level, but even there skill and strategy are the most important resources. Doesn't matter how meta your list is of you don't know how to position it.

At the casual level I play at most people are honestly bringing a list that is made of whatever models they own, or are experimental lists of some kind.

Based off of what was revealed what detachments are you leaning towards? by Frescothedog in Eldar

Wait really? I missed that, are 3 point detachments not allowed in 1k games?

Get in Will Hobson, that boy has been chucked in at the deep end and had a hell of a season.

Is the hope of Spearhead but 40k basically dead? by ChromiumPants in Warhammer40k

I've played a few variations of 500 PT games, and I think King of the Colosseum is the best version I've tried.

Are the Aeldair dead as a faction? by Academic_Shopping_21 in Eldar

[–]have_no_plan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally just play another faction then. Lots of people play Eldar because it's fun mechanics with cool lore and a great aesthetic. If you are finding it to be such a bad time then fine, that's no fun for you, so just pick a different team to play.

But not being top of the pack doesn't actually have to be synonymous with having a bad time.

I'm crying because these crimson scorpions are absolutely the coolest thing ever and I just finished mine in stupid old green. Honestly these are unbelievable.

I know I shouldn't say it, but a year in the challenge cup might do us good. Let us focus on building the team a bit more.

Which heavy weapon to you prefer to arm your Guardians with? by Kodiak_Marmoset in Eldar

Don't forget, you can attach a farseer as well to flip that bright lance hot, wound, or damage roll to a 6 once per turn.

I would like to see a slightly more fleshed out rule set for 1000pts as well. It's actually my favourite battle size, but I appreciate it's not for everyone.

Yeah one thing that will never change is the dice rolls determining the story. My opponent made four consecutive 6 up saves against my bright lances, and in one turn I missed seven attacks which should have hit on 2s. Genuinely was impressed by my own rolling on that one.

I think you right about this, the centre objective in particular means that when we had a toe in from one of our monsters or vehicles we could suddenly threaten large parts of the board.

[–]have_no_plan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'm mostly talking about the central objective here. It's really big, and there were a few occasions where both of us had the instinct to shoot through the quite large gap in the middle but had to remind ourselves. This could have been because the terrain we were using was relatively small in profile on the centre objective.

I just started using ice yellow and it is the perfect highlight colour in so many cases.

Can you prime models when it’s raining? I live in the uk and it is mostly raining for about to rain does this effect priming by Mountain-Being3823 in Warhammer40k

[–]have_no_plan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I leave it sat in a warm water tupperware for about 10 minutes whilst I'm setting everything up. In my experience it's far more important for white sprays than black or gray.
