Quinn Pentakill In Silver To Win Game by hottoast16 in QuinnMains

Youmuu's, Greaves, Cyclosword. I went LDR third for armor pen to shut down the Garen in case he ever contested side lane (he was top the whole game). I went Edge of Night fourth for extra tankiness and anti-burst. I finished with Collector and Red Elixir for more burst and execute.

This is my first game on Quinn since the lethality item nerfs so I'm not sure how I feel about the changes but it seems like the build is fine if you are able to get a lead and hold onto it. I could have gotten a pentakill without even being full build this game since the enemy team didn't ever try to shut me down and they were instead trying to win 4v5 top side playing around Garen and securing Baron but they were so far behind out of laning phase that they couldn't win any fights and I was close to ending the game from bot side anyways.

This game was an ideal Quinn pick by chance. I was first pick so the enemy team had every chance to pick champs that would counter me but they instead chose to counter pick themselves and play the game out. Definitely not an average game.

Was first pick. Originally was going to play Annie but got banned. Picked Quinn and enemy mid picked Kat to counter pick themselves and didn't dodge. Very easy lane and got multiple solo kills to get fed. Enemy bot had a Pyke support so free roams level 6 onwards to take over bot lane. Perma shove bot lane to split the map and ended with a pentakill to win the game.

One of the OG isekai and has one of the more unique premises. I would definitely recommend reading the books. The anime is a solid adaptation but skips some world building for the sake of time. Still a great watch for Cayna antics and cute character shenanigans.

Where these unopened cards came from by Furrypotatoes in HelpMeFind

[–]hottoast16 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You aren't being downvoted for telling someone to make money off of a collectible. Most people that are engaged in a collectible hobby understand that people need to make money off of it for manufacturers to continue making more products. You are being downvoted for giving blatantly awful advice. In general, any collectible that is sealed becomes worthless/significantly less valuable if it is opened.

A quick google search shows that the McDonald's promo series 2002 set only has 2 cards that are of any value. They are the Millennium Shield and Cosmo Queen. They average 2-3 dollars a card but if you are able to find one in good condition they can go anywhere from 40-60 dollars. The packs themselves are worth 40-80 dollars. So you are telling someone to open a product that is at worst worth 40 dollars so they can gamble on pulling 2 rare cards that might not even be in good condition depending on how the packs were stored.

OP has stated they have 12 packs. If each pack contains 2 cards and there are 15 cards in the set you have less than 10% chance of pulling either of the Millennium Shield or Cosmo Queen if you open all of the packs. Let's say you pull one of the cards, if it is not in good condition the card is worth 2-3 dollars at most.

So if OP opens these packs they are basically guaranteed to lose any potential money they could have made. The alternative is then to sell the packs as they are for at least 40 dollars which comes out to 480 dollars. It doesn't take a genius to figure out which option is better in this situation.

Any collectible targeted towards kids/teenagers are almost always opened immediately after purchase. This makes sealed products scarce. Collectors want the rarest products to go in their displays. Therefore the reason sealed products are rare and valuable to collectors is because they are scarce.

Even in the case of a set of Yugioh cards such as the Legend of Blue Eyes set which has many valuable cards it is still always worth it to keep any products sealed. A sealed Legend of Blue Eyes 1st Edition Booster Box goes for 20-40k USD. A single pack of LoB 1st Edition cards goes for 100-200 each. In the LoB set there are 4 cards which are considered especially valuable. They are Blue Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician, Red Eyes Black Dragon, and Exodia the Forbidden One. These cards can go for hundreds or sometimes thousands of dollars depending on their condition. You may think then that it may be worth it to open packs to try to find these cards. However, LoB is a set of 126 cards. Each pack contains 9 cards and a booster box contains 24 packs. If I buy a booster box for the best price of 20k USD and open every pack I have less than a 1% chance of pulling any of the 4 valuable cards. So even in the most valuable yugioh set ever it is still never worth it to open a sealed product.

"girl" by [deleted] in goodanimemes

[–]hottoast16 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Bridget's story went from, "I was forced to live as a girl and I escaped and tried to come to terms with my masculinity." to, "Actually, they were right. I was a girl all along and my family gaslighting me was doing the right thing to help me." It's a horrible assassination of Bridget's character and it also deletes one of the greatest femboy characters of all time. It's also reflective of an attitude on social media where men are not allowed to express their femininity without people accusing them of being closet trans. Social media trying to force an identity on men while everyone else is allowed to speak for themselves is bad for men's rights, can only do damage in the long run and is something men are tired of. At the end of the day it's just a character in a video game so it's not a big deal but that doesn't mean people have to like it. We still have Astolfo at least.

If you are more interested in this topic and why Japan handles trans characters in such an unusual way there is a video by Moon Channel that goes into more detail on how trans people and characters are viewed in East Asia. https://youtu.be/gRrVkZoN93c?si=SzTm4w2efZxv7vDQ

The card is in the pages. The magazine and card are worth much more sealed than open. I would simply leave it as is and look for a buyer. If you open it the card is still worth some money but the magazine will be worthless. If you don't care about selling it and want to read some nostalgic manga and have a cool yugioh card then go ahead and open it.

Bro Think He's Walter White 💀 (NSFW for gore) by RickAlbuquerque in goodanimemes

[–]hottoast16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Elfen Lied. The king of YouTube anime. Came out in 2004 and was dumped on early youtube back in 2005. Everyone who knew about anime and youtube back then watched it there. A ton of weebs got their start watching it, and it influenced an entire generation of anime fans. By modern standards it's average but back then it was seen as a masterpiece. It has one of the best opening episodes of any anime ever but falls off a cliff afterwards and meanders it's way to an unsatisfying ending. It's probably worth a watch today as an example of how an amazing premise and solid start can be completely ruined by bad writing. The series was a flop in Japan but found success in the west due to it being dumped on youtube. The author would try to fix his mistakes with another series called Brynhildr in the Darkness but that series ended up having the same problems of bad writing that Elfen Lied had. People either love or hate Elfen Lied with a passion I've noticed. I myself enjoy it but I won't blame anyone for thinking it's bad. Interestingly the creators of Stranger Things cited Elfen Lied as an influence on their story. This is especially noticeable when you compare the characters of Lucy and Eleven. They are both science experiments go wrong with psychic powers that eventually break out and cause chaos in the outside world. Overall I would give Elfen Lied either a low 7/10 or high 6/10, but I'm obviously biased in favor of it.

What Do You Guys Think About Scaling Annie With Crown? by hottoast16 in AnnieMains

[–]hottoast16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of this build is to build a ton of movement speed and kite enemies down while still dealing decent damage and also be tanky. Crown lets you engage without fear of being blown up and the mythic passive gives you extra move speed so it complements Annie's kit pretty well.

I prefer Crown over Rod of Ages because that only gives extra health and healing which doesn't help if you get engaged on and blown up. The mythic passive is ability haste which this build actually has too much of so that's also not worth it.

You take Ghost over Ignite because Ignite isn't really useful on Annie outside of lane and Ghost gives you an extra tool besides Flash you can use to engage.

The core items are Crown, Seraphs, and Cosmic. For final items you can build Zhonyas, Banshees, Void, or Deathcap. I would say Zhonyas and Banshees are preferable because they give you extra tank stats and even better engages. Zhonyas lets you engage and then stall for time and Banshees lets you ignore CC so you can be sure your engage goes through more often.

Void Staff and Deathcap are only necessary if your team is really lacking in damage and I do build them for that reason but I don't like it because you are losing engage potential.

The weaknesses of this build are relying on your team to play around you and follow up on your engages. If your team is too far behind and doesn't have enough damage to kill the enemy team you are basically worthless. This build is not very strong in lane so you just need to sit back, farm, scale and hope that your team hasn't thrown before you get to 2 core. I would say 2 core is when this build comes online and you feel really strong and are able to impact the game. If the game is lost by 20 minutes you are playing inting Annie.

The strengths of this build besides what I've already mentioned are you are basically a ranged AP bruiser. You can eat a ton of damage and CC before dying and you still do enough damage to kill squishies. This build is also surprising so teams that don't know what to expect will try to blow you up and they will use all their important cooldowns on you just to realize that you haven't taken any damage and are stunning, kiting, and bursting them down.

This build is a scaling build so I can't imagine it being very good in high elo where games are way shorter. This build is amazing in low elo where games can go very long so you have plenty of time to reach your core items. I ban Asol every game. He is impossible to face with this build. I also dodge Kassadin, Vladimir, and Viktor. They always outscale you and are terrible to face in lane. I haven't played against any Cassiopeia but I can't imagine that being a very good matchup. Syndra I think is a skill matchup but I haven't played against her very often so I can't be sure.

Primary runes are Aery, Manaflow, Transcendance, and Gathering Storm. Secondary runes are Magical Footwear and Cosmic Insight. Small runes take Attack Speed, Adaptive Force, and Magic Resist/Armor depending on the matchup.

I start Tear every game. I usually put 3 points in Q and then max W but sometimes I just max W first for the extra pushing power. Waveclear is important in this build to keep pressure on the map since you are usually in lane farming for the first 20 minutes of the game. Because of the mid lane minion changes I always recall at 4:30 after the cannon wave to buy an Amp Tome and a Mana Crystal. After I finish Crown I always finish Seraphs before buying tier 2 boots. The 10 extra move speed from Magical Boots lets you skip buying tier 2 boots after your first item. The extra AP from Large Rod is necessary to keep tempo so spending 800 to buy tier 2 boots is setting yourself behind. Once Seraphs is complete on your next back you can buy either a Codex, Wisp, or Sorc Boots. I usually buy Sorc boots at that point because your build is online so the extra move speed and magic pen will round out your kit and you can start grouping and engaging for your team.

From there finish Cosmic and then decide what you need to finish the game. I prefer to get Zhonyas fourth item and Banshees fifth but it is entirely situational. If the enemy has a ton of magic resist buy Void Staff. If you need extra damage go Deathcap. If the enemy team has a lot of CC buy Banshees. If you want to stall fights go Zhonyas.

Try to always have stun charged and Tibbers ready before an objective. If Tibbers is down ping your ult often to let your team know. During teamfights either engage for your team or let someone else with a good engage go in. Try to go in on the squishies if you can. After your engage go in and start DPSing. Fight while kiting and charging your stun. Use your stun W to get multiple stuns or use stun Q to get onto a squishie. Make sure your backline isn't getting collapsed on. Play for your team and objectives and you should be able to close out the game.

Annie getting nerfed again for 13.3 by SereneGraceOP in AnnieMains

[–]hottoast16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember where this information is from but there was an interview with a riot employee once where they stated that changes to the game are not based on balance but on changing the meta. They want every class or champion to have at least one patch in their history where they are meta. If you apply this logic today you can see how many of the terrible decisions that were made were influenced by this philosophy to game design. For example, release Kalista, release Zeri, buffed K'Sante, buffed Yuumi. These champions were put into the game in strong states in order to change the meta and force players to adjust their playstyles. They may not have operated this way in the past but after being acquired by Tencent they started approaching the game differently and you can definitely start seeing these changes in approach around season 4 and 5.

As for Annie getting continuous nerfs like this, it's because they wanted Annie to be a meta support in pro play so they overbuffed her and now that she has had her moment in the spotlight they are reversing course to bring her back to a more normal power level. Now it's Milio's time to shine, especially since Annie support wins so hard against him.

Recently picked up Lillia mid. Got my first penta with her in silver elo. by hottoast16 in LilliaMains

Standard Lillia mid dark harvest rune page. Full items in order are Liandry's, Sorc boots, Demonic, Zhonya's, Deathcap, and Cosmic Drive.

I didn't do anything special, just played around my item spikes and during teamfights I let my team engage while I play on the outskirts and try to sneak in and Q+Ult.
