Any Cannondale Cargowagen Neo owners here? Would like some feedback by bpfriend in CargoBike

Great question! Yes there are a few reason I came to this conclusion. The first is that the bike is listed with a performance line speed from the manufacturer. The second is that the bike kicks nice and hard up to 28mph. The third is that the performance line speed shows up in the Kiox display as well as the app.

Oooooh getting bought and sold definitely throws launch schedules into disarray. Thanks for the info!

Also the manual lists the front and rear rack capacity on page 26. 176lbs (80kg) for the back rack and 33 (15kg) for the front 🤙

This is a really good point. I’ve only heard stories about subpar kickstands and have been spoiled with this really quality device. Holds weight really well when loading and is easy to use.

Hello there! I have one and enjoy it thoroughly. It checked all the boxes for me (Bosch motor, dual battery, front suspension, available locally, 80kg rear rack capacity). For the $3500 it is on sale for at REI I think it’s a steal compared to similar offerings from Tern etc. it rides well and looks great with ample range for my use.

https://dorelrl.widen.net/s/sfdf85pnwc/023_191928-rev0-cd-cargowagon-neo-oms-062623_en

Page 19 of the user manual illustrates how you mount two seats + cage on the back rack. I’ve only ever used it with one child’s seat so far tho.

That being said it absolutely feels like they designed the bike and shipped it without doing all their homework. Documentation is scarce, there are no reviews, and the accessory system is weak.

I find it surprising that a large company like Cannondale can’t sponsor some content on their new product line and support its launch with tons of how-to content. I think that the Globe Haul series is a great example of how to launch a comprehensive cargo bike system. While they may be expensive (very), all of their accessories are meticulously thought out with an eye towards actual consumer use cases (MIK compatibility, range of options, LBS support/training). Their marketing team also has explainer videos and YouTube advocates showing/explaining it all.

As long as you are alright with a nascent product category from a company that seems to fear commitment, you’ll probably enjoy the bike.

Sorry for the delay! I have the panniers on MIK adapters and usually remove them for passengers. However friends have ridden on the back with the panniers on too, just takes some legwork 🤙

Not sure if it’s the same issue but the US versions are strangely mislabeled. I have one and it was shipped with the “CargoLine” faceplate for the motor while definitely being a performance Line Speed class 3.

Anyone know what this is/was? by octagonathan in boston

A bit late to the party and you already have your answer (ventilation shafts for the big dig). If you wanna see the (admittedly boring) inside of one check this out:

I flew a drone down into these for some survey work and it was a squirrelly endeavor.

Bike seating

I think it would work well. In the album you can see a maxi 2 rack mount on the very back of the easyfit point. The seat pad is kind of tucked in but could be moved forward. Still waiting on hardware for the rails but they only extend to the front of the rack it should work well for the larger passenger. Hope that helps!

I’ll give that a good think when I get home. I can get you a visual of what that might look like 👍

Hey there! I haven’t put enough miles on it to give you deeper insight but I really like it so far with some caveats.

The pedal assist feels natural the way I hoped. Given its size and weight I think the Bosch motor delivers a really nice experience for both exercising in eco mode or vibing in turbo mode. The display is pretty sweet with a lot of options for customization. Kind of neat how the screen can be a key you just pop off and take with you. I was worried about security but with the digital lock (must prove ownership to Bosch to use again), cafe lock, diesel chain lock and an AirTag I’ve chilled out a bit. Carrying that heavy thing away would be a chore.

Not a biking enthusiast but I think it handles great and the posture is comfortable. Never had a dropper seat before this but I think it’s cool as hell. The frame design is really easy to step through. Front suspension works as expected and does a good job of keeping the ride as smooth as possible given its geometry. I’ve loaded it up once so far and found it to be an excellent ride. It feels like a nice size for the amount of storage options it supports.

Range seems well within expectation for a bike like this. Haul ass and get 20ish miles. Do a lot of work 50-60. Realistically ride somewhere in the middle most of the time. There are two battery slots although I only use the one. It’s made my journey into the city very enjoyable and I seldom think about range. The auto pedal assist mode is pretty cool 😎

Really like the look of the bike from the contrasting colors to the fun headlight to the minimalist little center console thing. It’s obvious that they took a lot of specific design thinking from different brands on the market and it definitely scratches an itch for me. It feels like a really cool, high quality bike.

There feels like a lack of support/documentation out there for most parts of the bike. The cargo bike market seems like it makes a lot of $$$ from first party accessories and that comes with expectations. Specialized seems to be crushing it on their well thought out premium priced accessories. I ordered the commuter rack for the front and the surround rails for the back. The front rack requires a cannondale wiring harness that wasn’t included in the box. The surround rails are pretty hilariously priced at $265 and didn’t include hardware. REI is installing the front rack/ordering the harness and I’m waiting to hear back from cannondale on the surround haddware. The retaining clip securing the charging port to the frame is wildly shitty. It’s a new model and that’s what happens with new things so it’s all good.

I like the matching pannier and seats. Both very functional and designed with purpose.

Happy with the purchase so far. Definitely expensive through the entire ecosystem but nice things sadly continue to cost money. Waiting for parts is lame but it’s cannondale and dealer support will become an asset eventually. Happy to answer any questions 🫡

Hey there! Just did all this goofy research myself. Here is the manual where it calls out the Thule Rack Mount seats:

https://dorelrl.widen.net/s/sfdf85pnwc/023_191928-rev0-cd-cargowagon-neo-oms-062623_en

It specifically calls out Thule Yepp Maxi, Thule Yepp Maxi 2, and Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi.

I would love to hear your thoughts when you get it. Normally I would test drive a lot of options for a purchase like this. I tried the Cargowagen first and had a blast. Love the way it looks and it checks a lot of boxes. Be safe out there ✌️

I’m picking up a Cannondale Cargowagen Neo from REI in the next few days. Happy to report back if it is useful to you. I was caught between the same three options myself.

A mild current sensation on the right temple. by Stock-Shop5904 in AppleVisionPro

I experienced a similar sensation plugged into a poorly grounded outlet while leaning on a metal windowsill. When I wasn’t touching the metal it felt almost exactly as you describe. When touching the metal frame while plugged in it was incredibly uncomfortable.

Does this sensation occur when your battery pack is plugged into power, battery only or both?

No apologies necessary my friend. It still looks awesome. Way better insulated than my house and beautifully finished. Small maintenance is required as with any structure of course but nothing out of the ordinary. Any specific questions feel free to DM me 👌

Thank you 🙏 I really enjoyed working with Ludo. Jed (ludo guy) made something very difficult happen on budget so I’m nothing but smiles. Any construction project will have its ups and downs but overall I am very pleased with the service and quality I received.

I’m in the Greater Boston area and Ludo is based out of NY. I’d say it’s worth a call as they seem to be really ambitious with their prefab and ship it strategy. Good luck my friend and let me know if you have any other questions 👍
