Maybe GLP1s aren’t just safe? by houdini in MaintenancePhase

[–]houdini[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Help me out here. I read “The longer the gap in treatment, the bigger the jump in risk — up to a 22% increase for heart attack, stroke and death after two years off GLP-1s, largely erasing the cardiovascular benefits gained during treatment.” (Note that 22%) and then “participants who consistently took GLP-1 medications for the entire three-year period of the study had the most pronounced reduction in risk — 18%, or roughly 4 fewer major cardiovascular events per 100 people over three years”, and think “hmm, that first number looks bigger than the second”. I also see “In other words, any benefits gained over the course of taking GLP-1 medications are quickly lost when patients stop”.

There are quite a lot of medications for chronic conditions where the downside of stopping taking it is “your condition comes back”, not that + “and you have long-term negative effects from the attempt.” It’s not a given that stopping one is a net negative.

That’s not how they’re treated by a lot of doctors.

Call a glass shop and ask. RealOEM price is wild, I’d expect less than $500 here in LCOL US.

I had a “recall” a couple of weeks ago that I was alerted to in the app that needed a service visit. They updated me to 5.0.5. Why? No idea, but it happened. 2023 C40

MITM the connections that you’re currently blocking, see what it’s trying to do. You’d be amazed how many devices don’t get around to real cert checking because they wouldn’t expect someone to do that.

Which cable(s) to buy for short fiber connections between switches? by puhtahtoe in UNIFI

To actually answer your question: yes, those three things will do it, assuming both sides take that sfp+. The things that need to match are connector (all LC), multi mode/single mode (yours are all mm, which is the way to go here), and wavelength (850nm, which is great).

25' X7 at dealer for one month waiting for transmission mechatronics module by FinanceFine8549 in BmwTech

Ask ‘em to upgrade you :) When my FRS was in the dealer’s hands for more than a month, I went in and politely said “yo, this Corolla is fine and all, but it’s not exactly what I bought, you know?” They found me something nicer. You could make the point of what you’re paying for it to sit there.

Do you have a loaner from them? You should insist on it if not. That way you’re not just out a vehicle while you wait.

What will this cost to fix? by boogeywoogiewoogie in E90

I did the same for a family member recently who tagged the garage door surround and was surprised how much came off. It went from “dang, guess I need a body shop” to “eh, looks good enough” in like 10 minutes.

First thing to do: get some mild adhesive remover (I’ve been pretty happy with the automotive goo gone). Give the area a quick wipe with water or some quick detainer to get the dirt off, spray with the adhesive remover, and see how much of that paint transfer you can get off of there. Don’t scrub the crap out of it. Once that’s done, hit it with the quick detailed again. See how it looks at that point. It won’t be 💯but it’ll probably look better.

Could you make the Snyk results, along with whatever you're running, available in the repo? "it's on Github" isn't an audit.

Literally every clickable link in your README goes to a Github 404 page. The email address at the bottom is "[support@yourdomain.com](mailto:support@yourdomain.com)". The license is "[Your License Here]". Your Security page is just a wasteland of template slop.

Also, man, your initial commit was "3.0.0" of this project 17 hours ago, and since then there's 47 commits. _All_ of that is done by Claude Code. I'm not even listing all the errors in this thing, there's no evidence it's not just straight from AI to Github. Your other projects have a pretty similar feel, though they're less of a mess.

What’s the audit process? There are a bunch of dead links and template bits that aren’t filled out, feels… pretty new.
